Great teachers and academics. Principal does not address bullying appropriately. Principal does not seem to care about students social/emotional wellness. She is more concerned about enrollment numbers.

This is a great school, my kids love it and so do I. This is our first year in this school and I really am happy my kids love their school. They are doing great academically and I see a huge difference from their old school. My only problem will be the parents, most of them are really nice people but some of them are really disrespectful, they lack compassion, I am so sad because this school is great but I don’t like the environment the parents make always so aggressive. I have witness some parents being rude to each other and driving like crazy when picking up their kids. Also having personnel outside when kids are getting sent home will be a good idea since people don’t know how to act.

St. Ferdinand is such an amazing school. My son has only been there 2 years but it has been 2 years of receiving a wonderful education from fabulous teachers. Ms. Marta and Mrs. Retelle are the most wonderful teachers I have ever known. They have taken care of my son better than I have could expect and shown him so much love and care. I love the fact that almost every staff member knows my son by his name. When he walks into school in morning I hear so many people saying hello to him. I love how involved the principal is with students. The school and teachers are great with communicating with parents about everything. They did an amazing job with COVID protocols and keeping our kids safe. I am so grateful to be apart of an amazing community and know that my son is receiving a quality education.

This school continues to impress me! The teachers work hard and truly enjoy being there. I feel the positivity and love of learning the minute I walk through the door. St. Ferdinand Catholic School is an important part of the community. Academics are strong, and students, staff, and parents all take great pride in St. Ferdinand School. I have watched the school grow and thrive over the years. The Principal, Mrs. Folino, makes sure to listen to parents, and parents feel comfortable talking to her. She takes a great interest in the progress and achievement of both the students and teachers, and has a truly caring presence. Academics are strong, and so are Catholic values.

We love St. Ferdinand School! Our kids are thriving, and the atmosphere is one of caring, strong academics, and is very Christ-centered - exactly the ideal environment in which we want our kids to learn!. The teachers are amazing and know every student by name! The office staff is friendly, efficient, and go out of their way to help all who need it to obtain financial assistance. The new principal, Mrs. Folino, is doing a great job turning the school around and it is only her second year here! Even during the pandemic, the students are learning, as evidenced by their growth on reading and math diagnostic tests given throughout the school year. There are so many fun activities, too, so that the kids continue to want to keep coming and learning amidst the fun. The school and church are so beautiful and clean. We love the 2-story lovely library! Every student has an electronic device to use - the younger grades use iPads and the older grades use Chromebooks. This has really helped to supplement the great teaching during COVID quarantine times and keeps the school up-to-date with technology. We are also glad the school has Title I, Academic Coaching, an IDEA teacher, and a counselor on the premises for when one of our kids needed extra support. We can't wait for our kids to continue to experience everything this school has to offer under "normal" circumstances once COVID is behind us!

St. Ferdinand School is an important part of the neighborhood. My kids are students there and my family belongs to the parish. The teachers and Principal Folino are wonderful! With small classes we feel like our kids really get to know the teachers. And there is nothing like a good Catholic education! With covid, I've felt comfortable with the kids going back to the classroom given the safe, clean building and the welcoming staff.

BAd experience horrible principal she is so rude to parents and students yelling at kids. 6th grade students had 15 substitues and currenlty on the 4th teacher. Principle has no respect for no one. Principal sends kids to the office for no reason.

I am a very active parent in this school and have been for years. The teachers and principle do a great job of teaching, inspiring and guiding our children. My only disappointment with this school is in my fellow parents, it is so hard to get anyone to step up and get involved. We should be so much stronger if we all can together for the benefit of our children.

I loved this school when I decided to put my kids in it a few years ago but in the past couple years it has become just a nightmare. The parents are so disrespectful to one another and the new hires and new principal are just terrible. I’m regretting every putting my kids here.

Friends I want to share with you what a blessing St Ferdinand has been for my family. Early this year my wife and I received news that our daughter's daycare was closing. We did not have much time to look and worried that we would not find the right school for her. I am happy to share that she was accepted to the same school her older brother attends. Our daughter was able to adapt within days to her new surroundings. We credit the principal and the staff on making it a smooth transition. I highly recommend St. Ferdinand.

A wonderful School, a hidden gem. Great curriculum, teachers and Principal. The pre-k program is advanced and my son was reading In kindergarten. The strong academics continues though 8th grade with top notch technology, STEM program and robotics lab! Plus, they are a trilingual School.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! My daughter is enrolled in St.Ferds and this is her 8th grade year. This morning, I wanted to enroll my sons in a public school but I decided to stop at Ferds first. Best decision I could have made! They treated as if I was family! My daughter could not be happier. She grew up at Ferds and I know if I had sent her to a public school in our area she would not have become the intelligent young lady she is today. I hope my boys will be the same way. The teachers are top notch! They go the extra mile when it comes to the education of their students. And the technology is also very up to date and used in class daily (iPads, laptops, etc.) My daughter treats it as almost a second home (so do I), it's an amazing environment. I can't wait to send my twins there and watch them grow into intelligent young boys. If you're thinking about where to send your kids and are considering St. Ferdinand, defiantly go for it! -Nataliya Lageyevsky

St. Ferdinand school is the best in the area. My son loves going to school each day. The variety of course from preschool to junior high are fantastic. The Preschool is top notch. The teachers are caring and prepared my son to enter Kindergarten. My son loved his Ipad and music class. I would highly recommend sending your child to our school.

My school is one of the best in the area compared to the CPS and other Catholic schools in the area. My child because of St. Ferdinand's great curriculum is excelling day by day. If you want to give your child a top notch education go to St. Ferdinand, trust me I have been to others and no comparison.

Personally, my child likes his school. I have experienced that teachers and administration are active and working hard in seeking answers and solutions for what is best for every student. I also appreciate that there are still nuns teaching at St. Ferdinand in Chicago. It reminds me of when I was a child at school and I like this for my son, as well. I had a wonderful experience learning, working, and teaching at this school, under the leadersip of the current Principal. I am happy for my child and am grateful to this school.
