I have been is this school for 8 years,the school iss great,they have great teachers,i am so gladly being party pf this school.Thanks all people that work so hard to make sure all kids ate safe and have a good education.

They have a strong Music program. The principal has engaging activities for the students throughout the school year. Parents can volunteer to join the Parents Group. Parents can also volunteer to help teachers out in the classroom. However, they must pass CPS clearance.

They block youtube we didn't do anything I didn't do anything on youtube they block youtube for everyone but some students didn't do anything tell them to unblock youtube. >:(

I am a 8th grader at Lyon, ofc anonymous as the school may one day look at this or soon. [idk] DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL, try others schools such as Camras.. this school has daily fights, people talk smack about each other.. people post pictures of someone without consent and making fun of their face and conditions like skin conditions such as Acne or something. students are bullied here, students are bullied online too, students are even scared to tell there teaches anything sometimes because they might talk to the bully and the bully will know that the person they made fun of snitched and will fight them. dont come!!!

I must say the current administration is a hard working and dedicated one. The principal always has time for parents. I have two children with an IEP. The services they recieve are stellar. This is by far one of the better schools in Chicago.

I graduated from this school in 2009, believe me the teachers prepare you for the world outside and highschool. Right now I'm a senior at Von Steuben and glad with the tons of work Mary Lyon gave me because I learned to work, study, socialize, and become a high achiever! Thank you Mary Lyon teachers/staff members!!!
