    Shields Middle is a wonderful school with an amazing staff. We've been part of the SMS family for six years now. My son entered the sixth grade at this school with an IEP and very low grades especially in math. For years he kept getting an F. 'But the team at Shields Middle helped my son improve his grades drastically. He's now a Junior in High school and has excellent grades including an A in trigonometry. My daughter is in the 7th and she's on the Honor Roll. The school is one of the schools that offers music and art along with other wonderful programs. Their IEP team is the best. They genuinely care for their students and families needs. The Principal goes way beyond her duties as a principal and helps the families as well. The school is very welcoming and is kept very clean. They offer after school programs to help keep our children engaged and off the streets. I highly recommend this school.

    This school is an excellent school. The principal and vice principal work so hard at making this school a great environment For students and staff. The teachers are dedicated to their students. This school environment is friendly and welcoming to parents. The options of after school activities and sports is great. My son thrived at this school. He made friends, excelled in his studies. I am so happy we choose shields middle school.
