The principal here at Curtis is a mean old inconsiderate witch. Uncaring, rude and needs to focus more on the students other than distributing bus fare cards. She didn't want to listen to My plight as to why I am not able to get my child to and fro school without someones help. I had foot surgery and I tried to explain this to her but she over talked me, and was very rude towards me. She needs to be exhausted of her duties.. I wish I could transfer my child out.. I really dislike this school mainly because of principal Laquita Louie!

Let me start by saying that Curtis offers great programs and some of the teachers are really good. I have frequented Curtis for the past year and a half for various events and reasons with my nieces and nephews. Academically and program-wise, Curtis is on point. However, the saying "one bad apple spoils the bunch" is true when it comes to this school. The fish stank from the head down and Principal Laquita Louie is that fish! In all my years as a parent, student, teacher, and volunteer, I have NEVER encountered a principal whose sole principle is to cause chaos and make the school environment difficult or uncomfortable for a child. Let alone, a parent trying to enroll their child.Contrary to what Louie may think, parents work, have other children, and also attend school themselves so they do not have the ability to come to the school again AFTER they've already spoken to her about transferring their child in since Curtis is the child's home-school. I was denied an enrollment packet because it was said I needed his birth certificate and proof of residency. Okay then, I obtained the requested documents but could not get off again to come back to the school while they were open. So I called and asked for the forms to be sent home with my niece and I'd would bring them to the school on Monday with his documents. This way I wouldn't have to prolong the process of completing the forms when I arrive on Monday. ANY business-oriented and organized person would appreciate the gesture of being proactive, except Louie. This is even after I spoke with the Board and complained that she refused to give me an enrollment packet the first time. Per them, they didn't understand it and said she could send the packet home. It's not like my child will be admitted into the school without all of the required documentation anyway. These are FACTS!If the leadership is rotten, then there's no room for growth within the staff or student body. There is a long list of incidents involving Louie and her inability to interact with parents and students on a professional level. Petty, messy, and miserable isn't professionalism. She is 100% what's wrong with Curtis School of Excellence!
