Case manager will direct you to do things that you shouldnt do. Especially speaking about Amy Donahue you might lose out if you listen to her directions regarding parent compensation checks for special needs.

If I can give this school a zero I would. They destroy kids self esteem and treat kids so horribly. My child is traumatized by one particular teacher as well as the administration. I'm so disappointed in what this school did to my child. They broke my child down and my child still suffers immensely. They completely destroyed my child. I cannot even begin to explain how I feel as a parent at the things that were said to my child by his teacher. The principal does nothing and actually does not care. If you are miserable you should not take it out on an innocent child. I did have a positive experience with one teacher but sadly the rest of the faculty is sad. Teachers are supposed to build children not break them. The principal and assistant principal are horrible to even speak to. They are fake. Please do not send your child or children here. I'm surprised that teachers who tear kids down are allowed to teach. Shame on miserable teachers who make kids feel unwanted. All kids deserve a chance to thrive. Shame on the administration for allowing incompetent, heartless, barbaric teachers to teach. If you are a teacher you are supposed to build a child up not tear them down. What a shame at how traumatized they leave kids. I'm sure there are so many stories where parents don't speak up. The board of education definitely needs to do surprise visits to this school. Racism us flooded in this school. Not to mention the comments said to CHILDREN!!!!!!

Toxic environment, produced by teachers and students alike.

This school doesn’t not have parent- teacher communication over concerns they may have regarding the students performance or behavior. They will deem any situation as negligence and report you to DFCS.

This is a great school for my kids. I have three kids who enjoy going to school every day. The teachers and staff are very caring and dedicated. I'm lucky enough to have this as my neighborhood school and wouldn't want to move to any other area. Overall an awesome school.

Love love Canty and everything in it. I have both kids at Canty since I moved to Chicago from N.J five yrs ago and I wouldn't change anything. The Staff members are wonderful and have helped both of my kids in every needs. My kids loves sports and Canty has the ability to provide that to the kids. My husband and I are very please and greatful for being part of a wonderful school distric for both of our kids :)

The teachers here are dedicated and nurturing. My kids love it here. We are lucky enough that this is our neigborhood school! Love that there is such a diversity of students here, parents are great and volunteer often. The schoolwork is challenging which I think is important to prepare our kids for the future. There are many fun events and activities, such as the Talent show and choir. Only 2 complaints...one is the lack of enforcement with the double parking and second, is the lack of a lunch room for the kids. but overall, excellent school!
