Most of the staff have zero knowledge when it comes to the spectrum. Some of which would even ask you questions that's none of their business and refuse to accept who you are. What's worse, they ruined my relationship by encouraging her to break up with me without telling me the actual reasons as to why. Anytime, certain students would do something bad, such as accusing you as a liar, refusing to grow up, or receiving attention no matter what, is completely unacceptable! Discipline doesn't play a significant role either, where a student is literally eligible to physically harm another fellow student. Nobody should be allowed to do such things without any consequences. This type of occurrence proves how u responsible and are getting themselves into a lawsuit or the cops entering the hallways at some point. Also, the Standard 9 program is redundant considering all the college preparation can easily be taught in normal high school. No theater plays, no dodgeball, no lockers, no swearing, they will baby your child to the core, and once they graduate, their bubble will burst into flames. A majority of students I knew still misbehave after all these years, either the students themselves are too stubborn or the teachers are just too lazy to just do their jobs! Please do all yourselves a favor, stay away from this school!

I previously went to this school for all four years of high school as well as my one and only year in the S9 program. While it's not perfect, I felt right at home at this school, even on my worst days. They are the reasons why I've managed to get far as an adult (I'm 27, about to turn 28 this fall) and why I have more appreciation for my younger siblings nowadays compared to when I was a kid.If any one of my ex-teachers gets the chance to read this review, how are y'all doing?I was at this school from late 2011 to early 2016, if y'all wanted to know (my last two years of middle school were done at the Mansfield campus).

Horrible experience, teachers underqualified, if I was able to leave a review for a 0/5 I would

This school knows how to deal with students on the spectrum. Teachers and staff are very professional and caring.

It is an ok school for a lower functioning student, but terrible for High functioning students.

Not a school that supports learning differences in children with autism. Some staff members are not equipped to deal with daily challenges and take everything personal. They throw everything back at the parents and make it the parents' problem. Would definitely not recommend for high school.

Looking at 3/1/15's review, it's saddening to see not much has changed in the 10+ years since I went. I neverwent to the lower school, but I can totally vouch for what 3/1/15 said about the high school. Staff really doesn't care about anything they don't see (We all saw another student straight up punch a kid with no conseqence; I even said "Guess you gotta see it to call it, huh?" and the staff's answer was "Yes!") A child's word means NOTHING at Y.A.L.E. (Which should stand for "You aren't learning enough" because they're even worse academically) And they would remind us of this every day after they'd already suckered us in with the prospect of video games and outside food at lunch. Also, the staff WERE our bullies. We had a girl with Tourette's Syndrome who was constantly in trouble for her obvious tics (including one hulking right over her and screaming "HEY, HEY, HEEEEEY!!!"), there would silent "red code lunches" for the whole class over one student just so they could have bloody peace, and God forbid you tray and tell the truth to a guest student looking for a school. THEY WILL ISOLATE YOU IMMEDIATELY. There was even a kid who sarcastically suggested we were just an experiment and that same teacher was instantly, completely and suspiciously furious about it as if we actually might have been. Oh yea, and the LGBT community is obscene and inappropriate for a high-schooler. It's not just certain students' opinion either. So many parents have been removing their children for Y.A.L.E. that districts stopped recommending them and it's hurting their funding, and when I started going another school, I met an ex-Y.A.L.E. teacher who quit over this. They are very lucky there was no such thing as YouTube when I was there. I'd have personally seen to it people like 3/1/15 wouldn't have ever had to go through this.

I am a former YALE student. Needless to say, I have very few good memories from there. I attented the school 7th through the beginning of 10th grade. My middle school days were great. Once I got to high school, things took a turn for the worst. Please do yourself and your child a favor, and do not enroll them in the high school. I was bullied every day, and the staff could not have cared less! Look into other schools! (I highly recommend Hampton Academy in Mount Holly!)
