My son currently attends Clara Barton and this school is wonderful. I am very concern about my son and in constant communication with his teacher via email or notes. They are giving him the help he needs and I feel at ease. Mr. Sweeney, the Principle, is wonderful with the kids and from what I see, they all love him. My son looks forward to the Family Day at school. Thanks for a great foundation.

The atmosphere is friendly and safe. The staff is professional. The students are always engaged in learning and there are always activities to entertain the students after school hours. Parent involvement is strong and positive.

Barton Elementary is a wonderful school. The principal is new, younger and has brought a fresh enthusiasm in his approach to running this school. Not only professional, there is an exuberant vibe when you see the principal interact with staff and students. There is definitely a positive new atmosphere and hope it is sustained in future years at Barton!

I attended this school as a child and will be happy tos end my children here. The staff was always well educated and invested in the children and the Cherry Hill community.

This school is horrible. Teachers never get back to you from notes and emails. Children are rowdy and very loud in the hallways. Teachers blow whistles at them like they are moving herds. I hate this school and am looking forward to taking my child out next month. The way they go about doing things is small town. Their method of communication is 3rd world. They send home work that should be done in school and schoolwork that should be taken home stays at school. Do not bring your children here. It's horrible.

***** teacher quality, ***** Principal leadership ***** Parent Involvement My daughter will be entering fourth grade in September. Barton is a great school. The teachers care about the kids and the programs combine a lot of hard work with some fun too!

I have to say, I totally disagree with the review of this school dated 2/10/12. I have had children in Clara Barton for six years now and have found the teaching staff to be wonderful and very open to parent involvement. The principal is also very open to parent involvement and very welcoming whenever I'm in the school, which is usually several times a week. I feel it has a community feel today just as it did 6 years ago when we decided to move here for the school. My children have thrived academically at this school. Some people just need to complain about things. Especially when they're no longer a part of it.

I was so glad when we no longer went to this school. I found the teaching staff to be wonderful on the whole, but unfortunately there are some that should not be in the classroom. Children deserve the best, especially when we pay so much in taxes. I find as a whole the school atmosphere very stressed and unfriendly to parent involvement. The principal is very condescending to parents and would rather they stay out of the building. This school does not have a community feel like it did many years ago and I attribute that to the principal. Last day of school was a relief for us.
