Our son started at TMS when he was 2 years old. When he on-boarded they asked that the parent be an active participant in his transition. I was able to sit with him in the classroom for 2 hours while observing the classroom’s morning routine and learn about their rotational lesson plans. My son quickly adjusted and meshed into the community at TMS. Everyone from administration, teachers, aides, and students are welcoming and friendly. TMS aides in the child’s self discovery while helping them navigate independence and daily routines/structure. They follow the county school calendar for the most part, but offer a summer program that includes “water days” on every Friday. TMS is the only program that we have given 100% of our trust in and we would recommend it to any family looking for an excellent early child education program.

I have had both of my children attend The Montessori School. They have two different learning styles and personalities; however, The Montessori Method has been extremely beneficial for them both. The staff is amazing. The HOS has had over 20 years of leadership experience in education. She came from a charter school environment and while transitioning to a Montessori environment was an adjustment, it has become a way of life for her over the years. She puts the students first and she makes it a priority to provide encouragement and support to the staff. The students are able to learn at their own pace, there is a prepared environment that provides multiple modalities of learning, and the staff is dedicated. I am grateful for The Montessori School and I am confident that my kids will be well prepared for the future because of the educational foundation they have received early on. I highly recommend this school for any family that is seeking a learning environment that promotes independence, embraces differences in a healthy way, and creates lifelong learners who will ultimately strive to make a positive difference in the world!

This is not really a Montessori school. They have abandoned the principles of the Montessori method and now use an ad hoc combination of whims and vendor driven schemes. The HOS is in her first try at the role and is not performing well. Many of the staff are either college students or leftovers from previous management who are just marking time. The facilities are nearly primitive as the preschool rooms and entry flood during heavy rains. There are virtually no extra curricular activities. There are much better options for the ever increasing tuition. Essentially, it's a 10k per year daycare that will not prepare your child for the next step.

I have a child at Montessori School since toddler. She is now in 5th grade. Our experience with the school has been nothing but positive! Diversity has been a big deal for our family, especially because we are from the Caribbean and the school has exhibited some promise in that area in recent times, in terms of its student body and its faculty. Their teaching approach caters to my child's learning style and for that reason we stayed for 9 years!!!

The Montessori School is a very regimented and strict program for a young toddler and preschool. As parents we have been judged negatively and treated very disrespectfully. I would not recommend sending a child below the age of kindergarten to this school. There is no room for understanding, love and compassion at this school that a young child needs. The school will only call you to be continually critical of your child, and will never give any compliments or progress notes of your child. I am very displeased and regretful that my child attended this school.

We are loving our Montessori School experience! We have 2 very different children enrolled in the elementary grades. Each child is treated as an individual and teachers work to bring out the best in each child. Each child is receiving an individualized education tailored to her needs and strengths. The teachers care about the whole child. Our children are getting a true Montessori education and are part of a learning community. We are starting our 3rd year at the school and couldn't be happier.

We are very pleased with our son's education in the toddler program at the Montessori School. He seems to come home everyday having learned something new. The teachers and staff have become a community of support and growth.

I'm completely dumbfounded as to why anyone would write a negative review of this school. I went to this school from pre-school to 8th grade, and now a student in high school, I attend one of the top boarding high schools in the country and am in all honors classes. This school taught me to love learning, and the teachers there helped me thrive. I'm now leaps and bounds ahead of other students my age because of the teachings of this school. The teachers are absolutely wonderful and I've always respected them and seen them as mentors. As for the people saying their students were behind or weren't payed attention to, that confuses me as well. Every student that has gone to TMS and I'm in contact with now are all thriving and doing incredibly well in their new schools. And the teachers are always certain that every student is on the right track, and if not, pay special attention to them to make sure they do understand the material presented to them. This school helped shape me into the person I am today, and I'll forever be grateful. I would recommend this school to anyone, knowing it would help their child thrive and come into their own. ~former student

Good for the early years, questionable after 2nd grade. High turn-over with teachers in the higher grades, Director not very approachable and unwilling to discuss issues with parents. Good program for the little ones, but proceed with caution if you want your children to be successful after they leave this school and go to a more traditional setting, including any of the local private prep schools. Lots of potential for improvement, but not willing to sacrifice my child's education in a private school to see this come to fruition. The main problem I think is in administration. Teachers really seem scared at times when the director is around. Not convinced they are truly a Montessori school, implementing a Montessori method. Better than most public schools but certainly not the best private education for our child. Ask about teacher training, ask about comparable test scores, ask lots of questions and keep asking until they are answered.

My children love the preschool program and the teachers are wonderful! However while dropping my child off, I saw the head of school screaming at her staff members in front of the parents and the children. I found this to be completely unprofessional. I dont however enjoy having my children apart of an environment where the teachers fear the directors. That is not the way a school should be run.
