The Cooper School has been such a highlight for our family! Our kids love the learning environment with small class sizes, fun projects and a whole child approach to learning. We love how they weave in social and emotional learning with a progressive and rigorous curriculum. When we toured the school we were impressed to see how happy the kids are and loved knowing that they have ample amount of time outside on their beautiful playground. Now that we are a part of the school's community we are even more delighted with how much our kids have grown academically, socially and emotionally - it really is a beautiful and well rounded school. I highly suggest taking the tour to see for yourself.

We are beyond grateful for the brilliant and loving teachers of the Cooper School. Not only was my daughter academically prepared to be accepted at Academic Magnet High School (#2 US News and World Report) but the emphasis on WHOLE child, social emotional learning was critical for her to step into her fullest potential.

As a veteran teacher with experience in public, private, charter and boarding schools I can confidently say this school is the one I would choose for my own loved ones. I’ve never seen such well-rounded, confident and caring students, teachers, and administrators. The kids feel free to express themselves authentically, which is no small feat for middle schoolers. They encourage each other and are intrinsically motivated to produce quality work. The longer I am here the more impressed I am with the Cooper School!

This school doesn't just talk the talk, it walks it. Day in, day out. Our child has attended this school for five years. By all measures this school exemplifies community, academics, curiosity, friendship, and the development of good people. The best investment you can make for your child. My only complaint is that all children do not have such opportunities to find joy, learning, and a place as wonderful as The Cooper School to grow and thrive.

Leaving our tour of the Cooper School 3 years ago, there was no question that this was the perfect place for our daughter to start her elementary education. From its sleek, airy and open design to it's warm and comforting "shoes-off" ambiance, the Cooper School has a wonderful physical feel. The teachers are all top-notch; they have wonderful characters, are hard-working, are so dedicated to the mission and vision of the Cooper School. The educational experience never ceases to awe my husband and I as we hear our children discuss what they've learned during their day - from environmentally sound architecture, to writing up an experiment they've created, to planting in the garden, to advanced vocabulary words, to yoga. Most importantly to us, however, our children have grown in self confidence and have learned such a sense of community with the Cooper School. At this school, there is such an emphasis of treating others with kindness and truly respecting each other. From conflict resolution at the "Peace Table", to school-wide activities paired with children from other grades, the school comes together as a whole so often. I feel so lucky every day to be a part of this school.

We feel extremely fortunate that we found a school that fosters such creativity and imagination. Our girls are thriving in this unique and dynamic school, and we could not be happier about being a part of this close-knit community of students, parents and educators. We have 2 daughters who attend The Cooper School and we have watched them grow in so many ways due to the well-balanced curriculum. They are inspired to learn and to develop intellectual curiosity thanks to the commitment and dedication of the teachers and administrators. Our daughters have made tremendous progress academically, but of equal importance they have gained self-confidence through the Cooper School's attention to social and emotional learning.

The Cooper School has made a huge impact in my children's life. Along with rigorous academic requirements taught in a warm and engaging environment, it has taught my daughter confidence and kindness. My younger son is learning that school isn't just about reading and counting, it is also a loving, respectful place where learning is fun and interesting. They both look forward to going to school each day! We could not be happier with both what they're learning and HOW they're learning it.

The Cooper School is such a special place for kids. Our daughter and son have truly flourished here. The curriculum is challenging but it is presented in a way that drives the kids to want to learn. The faculty is truly one of the finest groups I have seen assembled at a school and they teach with respect and focus on the emotional intelligence of the child. They incorporate a lot of project based learning into the subjects so students learn to work in groups which has been great for my kids. I encourage you to stop in for a tour to see first hand why it is so special.

My daughters have absolutely flourished at The Cooper School. I can't say enough good things about the teachers, staff and environment. The robust curriculum and attention to the whole child has made such a difference in the lives of my children. I can't say enough good things about this school!

As a parent of two children who attend The Cooper School, I can honestly say that is unlike any other school I know of....in the most wonderful of ways! I continue to be inspired by what these children are experiencing on a daily basis. The enthusiasm and joy the teachers have is infectious and I can't help but grin every morning when I drop our sons off, knowing that their days will be filled with wonder and learning in such a nurturing, and encouraging, educational environment. With the small class size, teachers can truly get to know each child and work with them at their level. Our boys have expressed how much they love being students at TCS. They are becoming lifelong learners and are taught so much more than what you find in textbooks. The teachers encourage a child's natural sense of curiosity and the desire to learn, in a kind and compassionate way....and the result is something pretty incredible. The school not only accepts, but welcomes, parent involvement and I can confidently say, that our entire family has made life-long friends through it. The Cooper School has been an invaluable experience for us & I highly recommend other parents check it out.

Choosing a school for your young child is a huge decision. We have absolutely no regrets choosing The Cooper School for our son. The changes we have seen over the last three months have been pretty dramatic from the way he conducts himself at home and with others as well as his desire to learn. The school community has been very warm and welcoming. The educators WANT to be teaching and you can clearly see that they love what they do. Our son has been loving his exposure to music, art, yoga, library and foreign language as well. We have loved how our Kindergartener has made friends with different grade levels. They have done a fabulous job intermingling the grades to create a true school community. At The Cooper School we are not just seeing our son grow academically but emotionally and physically from how they are teaching the whole child. To date it has been an incredible experience for our entire family.

The Cooper School is absolutely amazing. It fosters independence, creativity, and children's natural curiosity while at the same time giving the children a lot of love, support, and structure. The teachers love to teach, the students love to learn, and the parents love to visit. There is open communication between parents and teachers that goes above and beyond. It is truly an idyllic school and I feel very lucky that my child goes there. I could not imagine him anywhere else.

The Cooper School's philosophy is based on the belief that to educate well, schools must be individualized. The teachers at The Cooper School do a wonderful job at creating a highly academic environment that promotes each child's innate curiosity and desire to learn. Students also benefit from weekly participation in art, music and foreign language classes. A strong sense of community is woven throughout their daily activities and parents are given many opportunities to engage in the life of their child's school. As we begin our fifth year at The Cooper School we continue to be so pleased with our son's academic and socio-emotional growth. His learning environment is challenging, supportive, and joyful. We feel very fortunate to be a part of this very vibrant and innovative school.

The Cooper School is unlike any other school we have encountered in SC. It offers a rich, engaging, multi-dimensional learning experience that nurtures a natural love of learning. My 1st grader discovers something new each and every day through in-depth studies and investigations that enable him to apply what he is learning to life. The school's focus on developing the whole child means that children are introduced to a wide spectrum of ideas and experiences from the first day of Kindergarten. This includes everything from brain science, architecture and "rocket math" to yoga, Mandarin and poetry writing. My son is thriving at The Cooper School because he is challenged on a daily basis through individualized teaching methods that meet him where he is and empower him to progress at his own pace. The result is a strong, supportive group dynamic, where each child feels like an essential part of the whole. In addition to the strong academics, we very much appreciate the culture of global citizenship at The Cooper School, which encompasses world music, martial arts, three foreign languages and service projects chosen by the children themselves. The Cooper School is a rare gem!

Take all the best parts of what you would want for your child's education and add them up and you would get the Cooper School: creative, fun, warm, challenging, and innovative. Our daughter is thriving here. They spend parts of every day working on speaking in front of their peers and in listening and relaying information from others. This fosters respect and good listening and especially confidence. Each child is part of the team. There is a strong focus on the importance of taking care of the environment with practical applications like having students compost lunch scraps and studying a bee hive on site. The students get lots of play time on the playground and the art and music programs are fantastic too. Our daughter's favorite time at school is the whole school choir. She comes home happy and enthusiastic about what they are learning, be it yoga, ladybugs, wind socks, French or math. We feel like the Cooper School has been a great investment, and with involved parents, they provide the foundation for students who love to learn.
