I got traumatized by this mess of a school. I am a former student of this school.

We moved to Champaign from a large city on the west coast. We wanted to ensure our children continued to schooling in a diverse and academically challenging environment. We felt that Barkstall was the best gradeschool where we could ensure she was getting both. Our daughter is in 1st Grade this year. We love her teacher and the school in general. Everyone we have met has been kind and helpful, especially Mrs Krystal in the office. What a breath of fresh air she is! Even though this year has been stressful, with masks and all and covid protocols, our daughter has enjoyed her first year of real school and we can’t wait for her younger sister to start with her in the fall.

When we moved to Champaign several years ago, we asked around a lot of people, and the name Barkstall came up highly recommended over and over. We moved next to the school and enrolled our son to Barkstall. We were not disappointed. My son, who is rather shy, quickly made friends, and the teacher made great efforts to make him feel at home. We were very pleased with his growth in math, reading, and writing throughout the year. His growth both academically and socially were very noticeable. This is a great school.

We have three children at Barkstall. The teachers are AMAZING. They are incredibly hardworking and involved with the students and parents. The office staff is top notch and the new principal is professional AND accessible. My kids don't like the uniforms, but they sure make the mornings run more smoothly around here. :)
