15 / 10. Uni primary is all around amazing and worth every penny. My child's only complaint: she has "too much time to play." In this day and age, I'll take that!

Children and teachers are happy, engaged, and collaborative. Robust integration across subjects at younger grades with more specific skill and academic work as children mature. Intellectually challenging with an emphasis on experience and meaningful learning rather than rote memorization. All grades have specific subject instruction in literacy and mathematics, arts, science, social studies, and social emotional guidance. Project studies abound and connections to the University at large support student-led research!

There is lack of solid structure and organization at this school, no homework, no report cards, no regular classes in the subjects children need to learn. Teachers are intelligent, caring, and kind people but the environment they teach in does not seem to provide for an adequate education. Varying types of behavior, including those that are disruptive, seem to be allowable with little redirection.

My children have been attending this school for over 5 years. It actually has classes from PreK to 5th grade. Not many people know about the school and I think it is one of the best kept secrets of Champaign-Urbana. Anyone can schedule a visit either in person on online via Skype to really know more about the school and its philosophy. Wonderful and caring teachers. The real feedback comes from my kids who never ever say that they do not want to go to school - they love it too much!
