I go to this school and a friend of mine was being called names by other people in our class, and the friend told teachers(specifically a teacher who tells the students bullies will be punished), but the teachers did nothing, and then the friend’s parents had to email the principal about this, and it even took convincing from the parents to have the friend change schedules to get away from those bullies. That friend of mine and another friend tried to confront the bullies by talking to them, and the counselor was there also, but the counselor took the “side” of the bullies. About Special Education, there is a student in my grade who has autism who has just as good an education as everyone else and, as far as I’m aware, is not being treated unfairly. However in 6th grade, I had to sit in a wheelchair during the school day which worked fine, as I had friends and other people who would push me to class, but our school doesn’t have an elevator, so I missed out on some classes like band and trips to the library(I’m a kid who loves the library). The building is so old that it was built before it was illegal to have a school without wheelchair access, but the building is going to be demolished in a number of years, so terrible as this school may be, it won’t have to last much longer. The teachers, especially the 7th grade ones, are very kind and helpful, but some aren’t as much. About mental health- I know a few, if not plenty of people at this school whose mental health has been worsened because of it and how mean some of the kids are, even if they aren’t caught. As I’ve mentioned before, this building is old, so the surroundings for students aren’t very pleasant. Sometimes, during whole-school activities, students are forced to participate in events they don’t wish to, like a game where the grade sat in a circle of chairs, and a group of half boys and half girls was standing. A person standing had to run to a person of the opposite gender who was sitting, do a bow or something, pull up the person sitting so they stood, then take the seat, so the person who was just standing had taken the other person’s seat, and that other person was now standing and had to do the same thing(Sorry if that was confusing to read). I refused to participate even though the lead teacher told me to, because I DON’T WANT TO TOUCH OTHER PEOPLE, but I ended up trading seats with a guy friend, which was ok. I don’t like this school- do better. These people are students, not bugs.

The discipline and enforcement of rules is so appreciated. The leadership follows-through with concerns and maintains attention to the best interest of the students which doesn’t go unnoticed. The structure of the school and the emphasis on education has exceeded our expectations.
