I attended this school from third grade to seventh grade, and it was the worst experience of my life. Now that I'm in a regular school, I realize how much those years held me back, leaving me performing at a fifth-grade level. The teachers showed a complete lack of care for the students, and it was even worse with my autoimmune disease, which they practically made fun of.Their punishments were also unorthodox and unfair. For example, after finishing an after-school detention, I was about to leave when they told me I couldn’t go until I put away all the lost and found items. There were piles to be folded, and it would have taken another 30 minutes. I told them they should’ve thought of that before they asked me to do it, and I kept walking. One of the head staff then told me I’d have to serve another detention for refusing. They constantly abused their power, and it was emotionally traumatizing.

I love that this is a teacher run school, any problems can be handled with the teacher themselves or with the help of another group of teachers. I don't have to worry about a principal who is not really involved but then comes in with the rules. Children can work up or down depending on how they are developing and my child will not have to transition from to another school until high school.

My son is a student there and I love it! He does, as well. He has needed a bit of extra help and has gotten it! He clearly feels like a member of the WLC community and I feel that helps him so much! They do many all school or other age integrated activities and I feel like they are all awesome, teachers, support, office personnel, and custodial staff!

I have two children attending Woods, both started as kindergarteners. We love the school and staff! The children are challenged, and required to think outside of the box.

If your child doesn't motivate on his/her own this isn't the school for them. The teachers/students stay together for 2 years because of the Primary/Intermediate/Upper structure and that is just too long. Everyone is sick of eachother by the second year. My child just quit trying and has learned to hate school due to our Primary experience. There are better schools out there for the children that aren't "typical" students. There isn't a principal at all so there isnt a good way to resolve problems when the teacher isn't getting it done.

I highly recommend this school. The teacher/student ratio is the lowest in town and the kids curriculum is outstanding.
