Other than a little trouble with a bus driver and being billed on the bus, the school is a really great school. I was really scared when I first put my child in CES in 2nd grade, we are going into 4th now and we are really happy with this school.

This school needs to start doing Individualized testing similar to many other elementary schools. It helps understand each students strengths and weaknesses. then they could get Individualized Education Plans (IEP). It isn't fair to students to force them to review the same boring content and not build them to their full potential. IEP's are an efficient way to make the most out of our children's educations. Children are our future and we should be doing everything we can to insure their academic success.

This is a great school with a loving and caring environment. My children have loved each of their teachers, and I have always felt welcome to volunteer/visit. CES is always looking for parent involvement at events such as the lovely Thanksgiving meal, field days, fall carnival, field trips, and other events. I have been very impressed with what both children have learned.

The teachers I've dealt with are adequate and can teach the material, which is the most important part of school. My largest complaint is the lack of communication from the school to the parents/community. I don't get the feeling that the school wants involvement from parents. I've never been told how I could help the school/teacher or that I'm even welcome at the school. Now that the PTO has disbanded due to costs required to maintain the organization as a taxable entity, I have yet to see the creation of the group/committee within the school that allows for parent input. The PTO's only function was fundraising which is not normal. More than half the staff choose not to use email as a communication method. There are no newsletters for this school and the website is not a reliable source for current information as it seems to take months to be updated.
