My child attended this school for several years, it has really gone downhill and I do not recommend it to anyone. There are much better alternatives and many of the people I know who tried this school left. They definitely do not care about the children they serve and do not care if they graduate or not, they just want the money for having enrollment. The admin is the worst I have ever dealt with.

Very poor and inadequate, outdated computers that crash constantly, brainhoney crashes an inadequate program, teachers who lack control, staff who lack accountability, no clubs, no support. School failed and students had to relocate. Staff still has not been able to send requested information.

Silver State Charter School is by far the best charter school in No. Nevada! The faculty and classified staff have helped my child excel in all of her subjects. In other schools she was failing. She is now a happier straight "A" student.

Silver State has changed its programming and staff to meet the needs of all students. They now have a dual enrollment program so high school students can earn their high school diploma and college associates degree at the same time. They also have a fantastic new distance learning programs that kids can complete from home as well as an Elite on-site program for students who want to attend 3 days a week. Talented faculty, helpful staff, and a safe environment. Who could ask for more?

RUN! There are FAR better options in the Carson City area, including traditional public high school, Carson Online, and private schools. Beside the ladies working at the front desk area of the school, I cannot say a single positive remark about this school's instructional program or the staff - in particular the guidance counselor who either lack the knowledge or the will power to do her job. Look at the previous parent's comment - lack of sentence structure and punctuation. Like I started with - RUN from this charter school. Your child will pay dearly if you don't!

I this school over the High School,Students here are in a smaller classroom settings. More of interactions with the teachers. The Teachers seem to care a lot more than the High School! I would recommend this School if you want more of a smaller class setting for your child!

I am really pleased with the work that my daughter is doing at Silver State. Both my husband and I have our master's degree. Our standards are high. My daughter was homeschooled. My husband lost his job, so we had to get her in a high school so that we could both get to work. Neither Carson High and Douglas High would accept her transcript. Our other child is performing at a prestigious college on full scholarship where her transcript was fully accepted. I recommend Silver State if either your child is a very independent and capable learner or you have the time to spend with him.
