I highly suggest looking into other schools and only going to CHS as a last resort. This school has pretty much been the sole causation of my mental decline. The school district as a whole makes horrible attempts to try and make the school a “better and safer” environment for learning but this cannot be further from the truth. You literally get in more trouble for having your phone in your pocket not in use than sexually harassing a student. The school cares more about phones being used during schools hours than it does about sexual harassment. I fear going to school every day because of this. And like I implied earlier there is a complete cell phone ban on students during school hours. Even seniors who are on off period on campus can get in trouble for using their phone while not in class. They don’t allow us to contact our parents through our phones, forcing us to have the office call them instead. The school implemented this policy to attempt to improve grades after a drop following the pandemic because obviously the phones caused this and not the pandemic that majorly affected students. The school also isn’t exactly the safest location. Fights are a pretty common occurrence here and honestly I haven’t felt safe here since day 1 of 9th grade. Although the general education itself here is pretty decent, I can’t exactly complain about that. Although one thing I want to note was with the sexed it felt like we skipped a lot. It only focused on the female reproductive system and how it functions, we pretty much skipped the act of sex itself and the male reproductive system. The school also doesn’t take feedback from the parents and students very often. Like the whole phone ban policy was announced without taking account for how the students and parents feel about it. That definitely lead to me and my family not trusting the school district as much as we did before.

I have two students who attend Carson high. I am impressed with the counseling department. Before my students joined Carson high, they were called by the counselor to schedule their classes. The counselors are very responsive and good at providing direction. Most of the teachers here are very good teachers. The school does a good job of meeting the needs of college prep students as well as students that are not going to go on to college. There are lots of guest speakers related to different jobs and lots of guidance on filling out college applications and financial aid. Overall, this is a very good school. Considering the size of the school, it is surprising that they can meet the needs of such a diverse student body. We are very impressed with Carson high. The counseling and the teachers are excellent.

Very good school. Exceptional teachers. The teachers are really good here. I don't see a one size fits all teaching approach. They have been very responsive to individual student needs. My student has thrived here. Homework is not excessive and adequate.

I have always had plenty of feedback from my kids teachers, Always willing to help and accommodate for certain situations. The Covid Hybrid design is a joke though, All they do is throw homework at them on the Virtual days and only get 1 day of instruction a week for each class. I feel these kids are not learning anything they are supposed to be for their futures. The school is great when when they go 5 days a week and actually are taught by teachers and not left on their own to learn .

Horrible. There's definitely favoritism going on at this school
