I feel privileged to be able to send my grandson to McCoy Elementary. The teachers have been great; they always go above and beyond to make all students feel loved and valued. My grandson and many of his peers perform above average in all areas. The high teacher retention gives consistency to the school and is a big part of student's success.

I have 3 children currently at McCoy. It’s an amazing school with caring teachers. My children love their teachers and love all the ways the teachers make learning fun. All of our specials (PE, music, art) are excellent and our librarian makes reading fun! I would recommend this school to others!

This school is the only reason I bought a home at walking distance from it! My son has been attending Mccoy since Kinder and is now a thriving fourth grader. I have a little one that just started kinder this year at Mccoy. We are a Mccoy family and absolutely love it! The teachers are amazing and motivate and encourage students for greatness.

McCoy has been amazing for my daughter. She enjoys going to school abd loves all of her teachers. The amount of diversity is great as well. The kids have the opportunity to meet and learn about so many different people. I'm only sad she has only 2 more years left there.

Mccoy Elementary is absolutely phenomenal and one of the best kept secrets in DFW. We are in the LEAP program and it is one of the best programs you can get in DFW. The teachers understand how to teach gifted children. The staff pours their hearts and souls into the kids. Dr Thomas is the best principal ever in every sense of the word, from the big ideas to the littlest detail of helping a kid tie their shoes in the hallway. The ethnic and cultural diversity that is celebrated at this school is truly a gem in probably all of Texas. The parents are super involved and the PTA is very active. This little community is truly so special and we feel so lucky to have discovered it!

McCoy is impressive! Dr. Thomas is fantastic. Our LO started in Kindergarten last year and it was an amazing experience. So many good things to say about Mrs. Sughrue and the kinder teachers. Excited to start another year! CFBISD has exceeded our expectations and the AGT programs are phenomenal. Great PTA and parent involvement.

Dr. Thomas is quite educated in the field of teaching children. Ms. Ford cared so much about the students there, and made the students feel welcome and wanted. She taught in a way that was easy to understand and my kid loved her. Thanks for being the best teacher ever for the children! Mccoy is a great school despite some factors.

We have a bi racial child with a tendency to dyslexia. Respect for him is through the roof and opportunities to grow and develop are beyond expectations. He has learned far more than any other place our family has been in 30 years. And his confidence is amazing. He is already doing 2nd and 3rd grade level work in the first grade. Could not be happier.

McCoy is not the school for an African American gifted child. The Principal Ms. Rank is very disrespectful and doesn''t mine under servicing black student. This school is overrated and look for a better option.

Wonderful school! Mina shgrue is an amazing kindergarten teacher. The principal however is like talking to a middle aged Barbie! The school has a great sense of community

My daughter attended McCoy for a few years and, suffice it to say, we had a number of issues with the staff, a few teachers, and the principal, Mrs. Rink, who actually reminds me of a predatory reptile. Though my daughter is incredibly intelligent and was bored in her normal classes (and thus acted out), they refused to move her to ACE, then LEAP, until she underwent evaluation for ADHD. Like many public schools, the staff at McCoy just want children to fall into line and become good little productive worker bees, content to churn out worksheet upon worksheet.

GREAT elementary. We started our kids here and were sad to move. The principal is energetic and really motivates her teachers. The GT program is truly a GT program, not just a name. I feel like my son got the best start to his school expereince by attending this school Sad to leave. :(

Leap program emphasis is on volume of work along with quality. The social needs of students are not met. Teachers and principal do not seem to address this.
