We’re heading into our third year at CES. I don’t know how it was before we got there, but we’ve had an amazing experience. The teachers have been amazing and we’ve seen test scores improve quarter after quarter. There are family engagement events several times a semester and I love the diversity of the students at the school.

Judgmental staff. Few teachers are diamonds in the rough. I feel sorry for those teachers who do care about the students, they are fighting an uphill battle.

My kids have attended here since they started school. The teachers and staff build lasting impressions on the kids and are knowledgable. They take time with the students who need it.

I am very disappointed and very concerned about the transportation department at Carrollton Elementary! The very first day of school for my 4 and 5 year old grandchildren, they missed the bus in the morning, despite being on the road at the appointed time. To top it off, the bus passed by their house at 2:40pm, nearly 45 minutes ahead of schedule. The driver never even slowed down or stopped. They returned the children to school, without ever placing a call to the emergency contact list. The children started to cry as the bus passed their house, and were frantic when returned to the school. After more than an hour of worry, I was able to reach someone in the transportation department, who after a rant about early day schedules, finally confirmed the location of the children. This is unacceptable and very inconsiderate on the part of ALL people involved, considering it was the very first day of school for a child in Pre-K and one in Kindergarten! What a terrible experience for 2 small children, who already had mixed emotions! Where is the security in this type of behavior?!?!?

We have two children at CES. We are moving to a better school district at the end of the school year. There are great teachers and not so great teachers. I think that is the case everywhere. I teach my children that in life we will have to deal with many different personalities and as long as a teacher isn't singling them out or bullying them they must adapt. It has been my experience that there is very little parental involvement and this puts a burden on the school academically speaking. I don't feel that my children will be prepared for college if we stay in this school district.

My son is in the second grade and was so proud that he taught himself how to write in cursive. Well he wrote his name in cursive on a drawing he did and put it in his homework folder to show his teacher the next morning. When she got his homework folder she looked at him and said "I know you can draw" and threw the paper in the trash right in front of him. BROKE HIS HEART!! What does the administration do about this and many other forms of bullying by my son's teacher? Side with the teacher and threaten to kick my son out of the school. This school is supposed to be one of the best schools and I actually PAID TUITION! But now after having my son degraded and no one doing anything about it I am moving him to Central!
