Great experience. So far our kid is in kindergarten and loves it.

We are incredibly happy with the teachers my two kids have. The teachers are attentive and address any issues my children bring up. I read a few comments below which mention bullying and the lack of dealing with that. On two occasions my kids, who are in separate classrooms, were bullied and the teacher talked to my child, the child that did the bullying, and notified me of what happened. The issue was resolved to my satisfaction. We love our teachers and the new principal.

Teachers are pretty good. My only issue is ONE of the lady's from the cafeteria named Tina was rude to me whenever I went to eat lunch with my child. I didn't have enough time to run to the ATM and told her to put it on my child's account she said that she didn't have enough money to put it on her account and that she's not the manager so she couldn't do that. She then took my lunch from me and put it aside. Luckily I borrowed money from her teacher and was able to get lunch with my child. Sad I had to be embarrassed for a $1.10.

Carrboro Elementary is a pretty good school. The teachers do their jobs very well and everyone receives a great education there. I absolutely loved the theatre program when I was there; the school plays were fantastic! The only thing that left me dissatisfied was bullying in the classrooms. Students picked on each other a lot but there wasn't too much done about it.

We've been at Carrboro Elementary for 3 years now and continue to be happy with the school. We really liked the old principal and like the new one, too (former assistant principal). She responded to my email w/in 10 minutes of me sending it. I'm sure she couldn't do that every time, but I was really happily surprised to get such a quick and thoughtful response. I loved the 3rd grade teacher our daughter had last year and look forward to another great year.

We have 2 kids at this school and continue to be disappointed year after year! The principal is the worst! Glad she is leaving! She has zero personality and should NOT be working with kids or their families! Since many of the teachers are moving to the new school, Frank Porter Graham, with the principal, they have checked out for the year!! The teaching involvement has been NIL, leaving their student teachers to do all the work! The teachers have their "favorite kids" and the rest get ignored. They need to pay attention to their actions and how it affects "our children." My kids self-esteem has plummeted since attending this school!! Lot's of bullying within the classrooms and outside the classrooms! Teachers ALLOW for this to happen and don't make the kids display teamwork within the classes!!! VERY SAD!!

We have 2 kids in the school and have totally fallen in love with the place. It's not perfect (I know that some parents expect perfection in their kids' schools!), but the teachers we've had have been really fantastic, with their hearts in the right place for sure, and the school has a great community feeling.

It is very strange that 11 of the reviews were submitted from Sept 16 to 18 in 2009. I am a parent looking at moving into the Carrboro Elementary school district. I wonder is all the (very complimentary) reviews were submitted by one parent? I would like some more current reviews. The most recent one is not favorable!

If you have a poor teacher there is nothing the principal will do about it other than try to pacify you into thinking all is okay. Stay away from 2nd grade teachers. Many parents are upset.
