This school is not equipped with teachers and staff that knows how to teach to kids with learning disabilities.

CHES is a well rounded school, combined with academics, arts, great staff. We experienced our first year of public school here and it was a great decision.

All three of my children have attended CHES. Principal Lattimore is amazing! She is so positive and has so much energy. You can feel the school is a happy place from top to bottom. My children have had great teachers and have excelled academically.

Capitol Heights Elementary School has exceeded all of my expectations in elementary education. The school has phenomenal leadership, well qualified and invested teachers and staff, and a culture that includes everyone from all walks of life. My children feel safe at Capitol Heights. The TAG Program and Team is amazing, the Arts Program is integrated in every subject, and the Dual Language (Spanish) Program has benefited my children immensely. I give this school 5 stars or more.

I have had bad experince at this school. they tried to retian my prek child and did not try to get him the wright helped he need thumps down .

My daughter is in Pre K in the Spanish immersion program at CHES and I am very pleased with her progress. Her teachers communicate well with both the student and parents. I'm also excited about the curriculum and materials provided to the children. Her teachers are also organized and have been very helpful during this distance learning period. The process of getting in the school was tedious though and some of the front desk staff could be nicer.

Capitol Heights is not the best school if your child requires commendations, whether it's educational or behavior. The school is overcrowded, and the staff doesn't have the best technique for reinforcement. The school does have an excellent program for students 2nd grades and up. The communication with parents and teachers is pretty ok for me.

This school has been an awesome choice for our family. We are very pleased with it. The building, though very old, is always very clean and tidy. The staff are like family and are approachable and caring. My hope is that the county would provide a more modern facility for the children to learn and grow in.

I love this school! My children transferred from another school because my son was identified as T.A.G. I am more than please with this schoold's atmosphere, culture and most importantly, their investment into the children. I couldn't be any more happy!

Capitol heights is a great school. The staff is very professional, courteous. The academics that are provided to the children are the best. The teachers are very dedicated and responsive to the children's needs.

Capitol heights is a great school. The staff is very professional, courteous, and helpful. From the janitors to the principal. When ever I had an issue with anything. It was addressed in a professional and timely manner. The academics that are provided to the children are the best. I encourage all parents to use school max. This helps you know what the children and teachers are working on. If any assignments are missing And/or not graded. You can catch it in a timely manner. Great job!!!

RUDE! I just called up to this school looking to enroll my daughter who is going to Kindergarten, and the receptionist or admin assistant was very rude. I inquired on when enrollment begins and she told me boundaries are changing so they won't know anything until July and to wait until then. I am an educator so I am aware enrollment has to start before then. I should at least be able to fill out an application in advance of July! She refused to give me anymore information, until I pressed her and said that doesn't seem right, she then told me enrollment begins in May. In a very rude way. After I told her my concerns, instead of connecting me with someone who wants to help, she hung up on me. WOW! I am completely turned off. I am happy the school has improved, but customer service is very important in my book. Especially when I, as a parent, am trying to get information. This is a bad bad sign. My advice would be to hire staff who are personable, friendly, and helpful. Still blown by this.

The school is a TAG program and this is why my child attends. The school needs a major building makeover. Some of the teachers don't seem to communication well with the parents until their is an issue. As a parent you want to know when your child is doing well and not so wel. l So we can immediately address the issue and correct the problem. The principal seems to be on board with academics and most of the teachers. My child likes the atmosphere at CHES. Keep up the good work!
