My daughter is autistic with learning disabilities. She needed to be on an IEP plan. I was told, by her reading teacher, they wouldn't do it because "it's too much paperwork". They put her in tutoring instead which is 1 hour every morning before school. She has learned more from her tutor ( who is a kindergarten teaching aid ) than her 2 2nd grade teachers. She is made to feel stupid by her teachers. She is always telling me how mean they are to her. I believe her because I've witnessed it and I've heard other parents talk about how rude they are, especially her reading teacher. There is also no communication between staff and families. My daughter has been in speech since she was 3. The school has been sent the papers every year and the teachers always seem surprised that she has outside help and tell me no one let them know. They put her in speech through the school and no one told me until 2 months before her last day of 1st grade. The principal is always on the teachers side never the child's. I'm still fighting for my daughters education but I feel like I'm getting no where. My girl is definitely getting left behind.

My son has a learning disability. He was punished for not understanding his work, the teachers would talk about how he needs to be in a lower grade infront of him, he would have recess and field trips taken from him weekly for not understanding, they would sit him in the hall or send him to the "bad kids room". By the middle of the year my son was traumatized by the staff there and the principal always swept it under the rug. Any time my son had to go to school or it was even brought up, he'd go in to hysterical and he loved school
