I was hesitant to write this review since I was afraid of the treatment my daughter may receive. She is in 5th grade so she is on her way out. First off, most teachers my daughter has had are amazing. That is not where this problem lies. The problem is with the county and admin. The Principal in particular. She plays favorites more than any admin I have ever witnessed. The PTA moms are the absolute favorites along with their kids; chooses her favorite teachers and bullies the rest (I am friends with teachers) she only cares about test scores and not the child as a whole. If this is the kind of school you are looking for, then go for it. There is zero sense of “community” anymore since my other children attended. A large amount of teachers are leaving (not good at all).

We absolutely love Sixes! We have had the best teachers here.

We came from a 10 rated school in Marietta, and I can say sixes was a far superior experience. Both of our boy were on IEPs and we were leery because of how terrible the school in Marietta had been. Before we would even consider the area we reached out to the school, and immediately we were welcomed in. Both of my boys thrived. My oldest who is highly intelligent, was given more complex assignments when it was obvious he was surpassing his peers. The Marietta school wanted to place our youngest in special education and label him as emotionally challenged. He is now one of the most popular children in the school and performs above average. If you’re one of those parents who stresses at night because of your children’s school I implore you to reach out to sixes and ask Mr. G to tell you story giant little boy with an IEP. I don’t write reviews and I rarely give praise, but this school was a God sent for my whole family.

For several years our children went here and had a great experience until the recent change in administration that caused a big shift in all experiences. The PTA at Sixes gouges the parents with unreasonable financial expectations. Parents with less money aren't able to get their kids all of the offerings and feel left out. The end of year party at the Bridgemill Pool was a complete cluster. Paid extra for food that was inaccessible due to horrible planning and zero follow through. The PTA does a lot of good for the school, but recently the combination of PTA and administration makes us glad we don't have any younger children that will have to go here. Sad, because it used to be a great school and now going down hill fast.

We have nothing but great things to say about this school. The teachers are caring, the principal knows everyone by name, and the PTA is very active. Facilities are top notch.

Sixes has changed my son's life! The teachers and staff are my heroes and I can't thank them enough for truly caring and helping my children. We moved from DeKalb County (from one of the highest rated schools in the county) in 2015 b/c my son has Dyslexia and we needed a school district that had the best possible services for him. My son started 3rd grade reading at a 1.8 level and finished 3rd grade at a 4.8 reading level. They gave him more than academic help - they gave him confidence! Sixes actually cares and works with their children and it brings me to tears knowing that my child didn't have to suffer and feel different, the way he did in a school district that didn't care. I can't sing Sixes' praises loud enough!

I moved here specifically for the reputation Sixes has in Cherokee County and am thrilled I did. My boys have thrived academically, socially, and emotionally in this school environment. Mrs. Crews and Mr. Gunter are dedicated to doing what is best for children. The teachers are some of the best I've ever seen. Their love and compassion makes children want to be at school and learn. They are challenging yet nurturing. Instruction is always individualized to meet the needs of learners exactly where they are so that each child can reach their highest potential. The school is always clean and safety is at the forefront. The PTA plans wonderful events and encourages parents to be a part of their child's education. I am so thankful that my children have the opportunity to attend such a phenomenal school!

Cindy Crews decided to change the car rider drop off & pick up location. Traffic is backed up both ways on Ridge Road. What used to take 10 - 15 minutes to pick up your child now take 30 - 40 minutes. You have to arrive a half hour before school starts to get through the mess to drop off your child to school.Change it back!!!

My son is in second grade and we have had a wonderful experience at Sixes so far. All of the teachers seem to genuinely care about the students and helping them to excel. From what we have seen, academic excellence is a definitely a priority, but it is accomplished in a safe and nurturing environment. Principal Crews is awesome! I think other parents' comments about donation requests are a little off-base. All schools have fundraisers. The money raised from the fundraisers directly benefit the kids (the addition of new technology, labs, and playground upgrades). Also, keep in mind that many teachers come out of pocket for supplies. I think it's understandable to ask for snack donations for kids who forget theirs or are from low income families. I am happy to chip in a box of Cheerio's and some supplies every once in a while for someone who is truly dedicated to helping my child learn and grow. You won't go wrong with Sixes.

I agree with the previous rating. The "donations" asked for at school is really getting out of hand. I receive 3 or 4 emails a week , if not more from the school or the teachers asking for money, food, school supplies, cleaning supplies, art supplies, party supplies. What was the point of giving us a "school supply" list at the beginning of the year if you are only going to ask for 100 more items on a weekly basis? and I might add, the school supply list was long and not cheap. Do they not understand not every child's family brings in 6 figures?

When school was closed for 9 days they asked the K-2 if they would like a 'make up work' packet sent home. We asked for the packet, thinking it would be what was missed on those days. Well 9 days worth of work turned out to be more work then I have received from my child ALL YEAR LONG! (100+ pages) I also found out from the inadequate teacher that "sometimes we don't have the tests" because they "run out of time" and never have a "make up day" because they don't have time but when I have been to the classroom on several "pop-in" visits they are always watching a movie!? Teachers are huddled in the corner talking....good time management there. No one oversees that these teachers are doing the required curriculum. This school asks for 'donations' of money for everything on a weekly basis more then any school I have ever known (and I have other grown children, so yes, I am familiar with what is "normal"). I receive email on a daily basis begging for money or food for every occasion. The only things the teachers really care about is "winning prizes" for their classroom collecting the most money or items for whatever they are begging for this week.

This is a Fantastic School! All three of my children have had the honor of going here. The teachers are second to none. The administrative staff is amazing. My children were prepared for middle school and all loved attending each day! We have been truly blessed!

Ok, I have posted before but posted a name and didn't get approved. I will be quick and to the point. If you want to give your child the best education, send them to Sixes and if your child has special needs you have a better reason. The special education dept is superb. It has to be the best there is....it just has to be. Ms. V has taught my daughter to read and Ms. M both in the spec Ed dept are the reason why my husband turned down a transfer job. Let's just hope for the sake of their children, that the charter school parents realize there was not the need for charter and put their child back into the best school in the southeast. And the principal Mr. h is an awesome principal and person. Helped keep my son on the right track.

Sorry. I meant mrs. M instead of Mrs. L. I don't think there is an L but if there is, I am sure she is good too!
