Our 4 children attended this school for 3 yrs. We thoroughly enjoyed 1st grade through 3rd grade for them. The 4th and 5th grades seemed to be the worst. Great Schools shows low testing results, and this is accurate. My children were coming home as 1 (of the 3 or 4 students) who passed the state tests. A few of the top classes are with teachers who come to work excited, fun and full of optimism. There are many teachers here that scream at the children every day. I’m not sure why they’re not let go. It’s 50/50. I WOULD recommend this school; but it needs help. My children are safe here and communication is FANTASTIC with the principal. She tries very hard and could use more County support.

The worst. After already raising two children and in all my experience this has been the worst school I have ever seen in all my life. I witnessed first hand last year how things are handled. I did not like it and how no doubt where it was leading. I was not incorrect, and as a person who observes EVERYTHING did not like what I saw last year and even less this year. They should not have ran off some of the good ones. For Teachers who really care about their students is important. Children would be more productive in a healthy, happy environment. The incident in the car line with the screaming mother and the father who got out to confront her. Those two should have been immediately removed from the line or the car riders and children should have been directed to the front of the school. That scene could have been much worse and yet children were still brought out in to it. BAD CALL.

They need to fire the principal of this school. She is a joke and lacks the ability and skills to do her job. School does nothing about different teachers teaching my child every day of school when he is supposed to have just ONE teacher. Among other things they don't even grade hw properly

In my opinion the staff does not teach the kids correctly. To busy worrying about themselves. My son constantly brings home papers and the words are misspelled and backwards and still gets a good grade on them.

This school is by far the WORST school my child has ever been to! Way to focused on behavior in the 4th grade. Teachers don't even look at the work that they grade I am constantly correcting spelling errors on my sons school work, and when i ask why it wasnt corrected he tells me that the teacher told the class that spelling doesn't matter! Teachers just hand out work, and don't teach anything. My child has been bullied since day 1 at this school he has told staff multiple times and they done nothing about it, until it came down to the child pushing my son on the playground and my child defended himself, and they make him out to be the one who started it with no consequences for the other child. I am pulling my son from this school and sending him to a charter school for the remainder of the 17-18 school year. This school needs to get their act together! If you are looking to buy/rent a home in this school district STAY away or send you child to a private/charter school!

I dread my child going back to this school. If I had the transportation I would move them from this school. I child has been in 3 different schools and this school is by far the worse school they have been to. The teachers are understaffed and this has caused most of them to have bad moral and not care. Most of them miss more days then they are there. The school is full of bulling and the staff covers it up blaming the wrong child or the parents. The school learning program is terrible. They only worry about making the kids learn for EOG's at the end of the year and that is it. The principle does not worry about how the teachers act and let PTO members and volunteers run around the school acting like its high school. They need to make a reality show out of this school at least the school would get more funds. But the money would probably be misused like it is now on junk food and candy instead of books and supplies that are needed for the school.

The school is terrible. The teachers and staff are a joke they make the smart kids help kids that are failing. They all stand around ana gossip all day to each other and let the kids run wild. In all four years my child has been at this school the main teacher in there class was always out.And lets not talk about the admin staff they are a joke .They don't follow up on any complaints. The children get bullied by other children and staff. The PTO is a farce they walk around the school like they own the place, belittle parents they don't like and love to spend the money on junk food and candy for the kinds instead of useful things the school needs for learning. The PTO president has slander a person with burns on her face along with making most of the staff she has worked with to quit until her friends were in. The staff lets kids with disabilities not get the proper help they need. Principle take on time to find the root cause of any problems at the school and always blames the parents.Worst school I have ever seen.

4 Principles in 3 years we were there. My son has Asbergers and ADHD and they let him bang his head on the concrete floor until he got a concussion. When asked why they didn't stop him, they said because if someone got kicked or hit then they could sue us as parents. They did not even call to tell us what happened. He was at home and pessed out and threw up...that's how we found out. When we brought in up to the principal she made a fist with one hand and punched her other hand...then looked at us and said "Maybe he just needs some tuff love" mind you my other child goes here at the time as well and got honor roll the whole time she was there. Then they were insinuating it was an at home problem. Also the school would not test him for learning disabilities and said it was a maturity issue. Then they got upset with us when we took him to an outside doctor to get tested. The issue with us was not so much the teachers as it was the administration and their way of handling situations.

The front desk staff is very rude and never know anything. When I come in I have to wait because they always have time to gossip. The school is so low in test scoring it is despicable. They woman at the front desk is very rude and derogatory. I dislike the front desk lady very much. I have had a few different incidents where she has acted this way toward me.

Worst school I have ever seen. Teachers don't seem to care about the students, nor do they seem to be able to control their classrooms. Students are merely taught so they can pass the EOGs, luckily my kids excelled at them (because I explain more to them than their teachers) but don't hold hope for the other students to pass, given prior years scores (where less than half the students met minimum requirements- yet were still shuffled to the next grade) The principal is rude and talks down to the kids. She is very patronizing with them. The kids don't seem to respect or like her. At our previous school the children would flock to the principal. He was fair, kind and always available. Here, I've seen kids trying to hide from the principal- just when she's walking down the hall. The PTA is a joke. They tell you they want volunteers, but when you actually offer up useful information or try to help they more or less ignore you and do the same junk they always do. And then whine that their goals weren't met at the end of the year. Stay away from this school, heck this COUNTY if you have school age kids. Mine are going elsewhere after just one year in this awful place.

I don't even know where to begin.... teachers who don't care and spend a great deal of time yelling, the principal is not visable and lacks leadership skills, they "discipline" methods are from the stoneages and down right cruel. This school is the bottom of the barrel and my children will not be back next year. My children used to love school until they transfered into johnsonville, now they cry everyday and tell me they " wish school was never invented" as a mom this breaks my heart! I'm so disappointed in the lack of education my children have received and how the school has managed to turn their positive experience into something negative!

Just look at the school test results. One of the lowest in the county. Need I say more.

My sons and I moved to NC a little over a year ago and the boys were ok. I'm not overly impressed but not disappointed much, except for some bullying incidents and the fact that my son with ADHD wasn't really given the 504 plan he needed in place to help him succeed, especially in dealing with his learning issues. The Principal is truly caring, and my youngest's son Special Ed teacher was just wonderful.

The school is not the best. The princeable spends time fixing only minnor probles and tell us to be good and barely takes action.

My child never ever has homework, and the communication is not good. Keeping up with assignments is difficult when there is not a system in place. I would recommend passing on this school if you can.

The bullying starts on the school bus, then it goes into the school. The bullying gets worse and worse because no one does anything about it! Our grandson was attacked by a bully with a pair of scissors from the same kid that dragged him across the playground, on his stomach, by his feet. Where was the supervision? Recourse: a note was sent home to the kids parents, or was it? The teacher doesn't report half of the occurrances. The teacher said that sending a note home is all she can do and her hands are tied. To which I say, WHAT? Why wasn t this bully removed from the school immediately? The very next day, our grandson was held down and got a hair cut from this bully. Thank God it wasn't worse. Thank God we are getting out of this school. I would highly recommend that all parents keep a close watch if your kids are enrolled in this school, because nothing is being done to protect the students at Johnsonville. This school is now under investigation by the NC School District. Training is only part of the solution - the teachers, principals and staff need to care. You can't teach that. Run as fast as you can to another school!

We have been very happy with Johnsonville Elementary School. I was quite nervous when I read the ratings from previous years, but we have had a great experience. My son is excelling in reading and his teachers are kind and caring. He wakes up excited to go and comes home happy... I don't know what more we could ask for.

Extremely dissatisfied in the Jonsonville elementary principles actions in taken care of urgent issues with bulling kindergartine kids on the school buses. One time offensece and the ones doing the bulling should be kicked off the bus for the rest of the year, anyone else involved will get a suspension from the bus also. Stop the bulling!!!!
