This school has taken a hit within the last couple years education-wise. Several turnovers with teachers and two different superintendents have led to the kids being forgotten. The administrators clearly are about themselves and not everyone's best interests. As a parent of a child in the 1-2 classroom I can 100% say my opinion doesn't count. This school needs to start caring about the education again. Our kids are our future, they need to have a solid beginning.

Burnt Ranch school has some amazing students who may never reach their potential. The administration (like so many schools) is too focused on keeping teachers happy and giving them control. The result is ridiculous scheduling like "Late Start Mondays" which occur seemingly at random, no plan or program for young, advanced students (especially in arts) because that would take more work on the part of the teachers and little or no acceptance of parental input. These students use tablets at school but are technologically behind urban students. It is also extremely difficult to garner parent involvement. The schoo is in a beautiful setting but really needs some maintanence to the playground and fields. The teachers seem to genuinely care about the children but are reluctant to ask for help, change their methods or involve parents. I don't feel welcome to "get involved" in the school but I am educated and have offered to volunteer on more than one occassion. I believe that this school would benefit from a leader who inspires cooperation and going the extra mile - regardless of the time and energy that it takes.
