All 3 of my children have attended this school and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Their approach to children with learning disabilities has been incredibly supportive and the curriculum is well balanced and designed.

My son has had a positive experience here. The school nurse is always communicative when there has been an issue. When I had an incident of another child punching my child in the chest on the bus, guidance immediately responded to my concerns and addressed the problem.

Worst school I've ever had to deal with. My son was a special needs child and they treated him horribly. He was bullied by other kids, they ganged up on him and they blamed him. Three kids against one?! Come on! He learned NOTHING! I'd never recommend this school to anyone!

Bernice Young has the best teachers and they gave my 2 children a wonderful education during the time they were there. If it wasn't for the best special education teacher I have ever known, Ms. Baker, my daughter with Autism would have gone out if district at 3 years old. Instead she spent 4 years in district. They treated her absolutely wonderful and the superintendent and principal knew he by name. Dr. Manno was the most personable superintendent and took a great interest in all his students in twp. As a profession who has spent 13 years in special education, I have never seen a better district in all areas.

My 2 kids attend this school and we love it. We have never had any issues with this school. The principal and teachers are great. My kids teachers are truly engaged and know my kids on individual basis. Parents are highly encouraged to stay involved in our kids education. This is a lovely school. I have no regrets.

I would love to know how a school district can go from having all schools rated at 6 and above, get a new superintendent, then go down to a great school rating of 4, and have the superintendent get state superintendent of the year! Shouldn't he have improved the schools. I know that we chose to send our children to private because of Dr. Manno, Mr. Gerski and the board of Ed. They refused to drop our child at child are, which was on his way home. I was actually told by them to leave work, pick him up at school, drop him off at daycare, and drive the 40 miles back to work. As a teacher myself, what should I have done? So, instead, they now reimburse us to transport our children to private school. And what happened as a result of our emails, phone class and plea to the board? The super got an unprecedented 5 year contract. Nothing like stabbing your parents in the back to boost yourself up. The schools in the township are a disgrace to the taxpayers. The use of connected math and everday math would have made me pull my child out at the 3rd grade level anyways, even without the mess. If the schools will not stand up for a child, then what use is the school.

This is the most wonderful school! Not only is it beautiful and spotless, but the teachers, principals, and staff are amazing! Safety, and school security is top notch! The programs that they offer are wonderful, and my daughter has had the best experience. I have 3 kids in this district in Elementary, Middle, and high school. Every moment, every teacher was wonderful and went above and beyond for my kids and many others that I know. My 8 year old is going to the next school in the district, Fountain Woods. We are sad to leave Bernice Young but excited to see what the future holds! I highly reccomend this wonderful community, the schools, and especially the teachers!

Absolutely horrible. I have a special needs child and the Director of Special Services is completely hostile, bitter, and unprofessional. Her focus is not the students, but rather the staff. The case management is also horrible. The preschool special ed teacher is great, but she is surrounded by regular educators who are not trained to have special ed kids included. Paraprofessionals are untrained and unsupervised.

Our oldest daughter attended B.Bernice Young School from pre-k through 2nd grade and I can't wait until September so my son can have the same wonderful learning experience and success as my daughter (4th grader). The teachers and staff not only encourage their students but also support their parents.

Teachers, administrators and staff know children by name - even teachers who do not have that particular student in class.

Everyone at B. Bernice Young School is so friendly and helpful. Our granddaughter loves going to school there. The school has a friendly, safe, and fun learning environment. Having been a teacher for over 30 years - not at Young School - I can see that it is a community of caring adults and wonderful children.
