My son attended 4th and 5th grade here. The teacher's were absolutely wonderful. I really wish they had 6th grade here so he could stay at the school. He teacher's went above and beyond what you expect. The PTA is well run and they had many activities throughout the year for the kids. It is a great school and I recommend it highly .

My daughter goes to Memorial and I have overall been very happy. She has formed great bonds with every teacher she has had there. The facilities now are fantastic and I'm happy my child has to opportunity to learn in a brand new building. I have been very happy that they are trying hard to involve technology in to the learning environment. They set my daughter up with a variety of application focused on strengthening her weaker areas. She comes home most days with a very positive attitude which i think reinforces the schools commitment to teaching social responsibility and respect for each other.

I will agree with the other review that the school most definitely does not challenge the students. If your child is at a higher level, they will get bored and have to regress their learning in order to keep the slow pace the classrooms are going. Even if you try and get more to challenge your child, the principal would rather not make an effort. Maybe she is laying low in order to keep her job and retire from it? They will make reasons to keep you waiting on challenging your child which means they will discourage you from trying. Sad. I will say my child had a great teacher, however, the teacher can not do much without the approval of the principal. The children are not challenged enough...slooooow pace.

I am a parent of a child that attends Memorial. I find that the learning could be better. I don't think the children are challenged enough. I think kids thrive to learn more and the curriculum being offered is just hum drum and I am sure what is required only. I really think the kids should be given more things to interest them and let their minds expand. I feel the administration doesn't really want to aim higher. Maybe it's easier to just lay low and follow along for them.
