CES is an amazing school. My child has loved going to school in Burbank. The teachers care about her and want the best for her. This is the same care and want the teachers have for all students.

I am super surprised by this score. I have a daughter and son attending the school right now and they love it. CES has a great Marimba Band, the best Science scores in the area, and a wonderful PTO. The Principal is so helpful and has supported my daughter who struggles in reading tremendously. Burbank is poor and more than 3/4s of the kids are on free lunch... But you would never know it by the teachers, the facilities or the opportunities the kids have. Steam is awesome and the principal just spent the night with my son and all the fifth-graders in an all night lock in. Discipline seems to be a non-issue at this school, the teachers seem to have a great handle on things. There might be some older teachers that need to retire soon but in the third through fifth grade the kids get to have all the teachers. The kids have great experiences and know everyone. The principal told me last year 10% of the kids at our school are choiced into get our district. It's easy to see why, he knows all the kids, class sizes are 20 kids a class and the school is only about 350 students total. I am not sure how the score was figured but just look at the stars, this school is no two!

I am not surprised at the overall rating for CES. The town of Burbank is very small, with very high property taxes. Almost half of our yearly taxes are fed into the school district in Burbank. I have had 3 children complete K-5th grades at CES. In my opinion, there are 4 excellent teachers in this school that truly care about the children's education (all of the kids--not just the easy ones!) The rest of the teachers are either past retirement, or they are eager to follow the Core Curriculum and appease the happiness of the kids instead of discipling them. The tough ones are sent to the office to play with Legos and "sit it out". The teachers are very friendly and helpful...but YOU must be willing to do the legwork for them or your child will quickly fall behind.

The principal is outside every morning to greet the kids and make sure all is good, and i'm sure he is outside after school also. I don't see that happening anywhere else that i know if. I feel safer taking my child to Columbia Elemantry School, the teacher'sa re awsome also.

Great school. The Principal knows all the kids and makes them feel special. He stands outside and greets them each day! Teachers are friendly and they have a ton of technology. We came from a larger school and love this one...many kids are from out of district.
