My child was at SCS for many years. While her elementary days were great, great teachers (except for one), middle school was terrible. Homework all night, no communication from teachers to parents, they play favorites, and they like to gossip. It’s a VERY click school and if you are not in, you are out. I wanted to pull my child out many times, but my husband wanted them to finish. Unless you are the “popular” parent, I wouldn’t waste my time or money sending my child to this school.

I removed my child from St. Cecilia after 8 years. Everything was fine until they got to 5th grade. There, the teachers didn’t seem Christ like at all anymore … very inflexible and LOTS of yelling at children. I didn’t like that at all.Teachers are snooty and cliquish for no reason. They are nothing special (not much talent) and always have a huge turnover every year.SCS needs a proper PE program for all students. PE program is a joke. Foreign language program is a joke,My child was behind in math when they got to their next school, but quickly caught up due to excellent teachers there.Much better private schools in Acadiana for the same price of tuition. Check them all out first. So happy I took my child out of this school!

St. Cecilia is a highly affective school. It shows diversity and is a great school for kids. All kids find friends and fit in with their own “type of people” Every teacher is encouraging and helpful!

My son went to St. Cecilia for 10 years and we enjoyed every minute of it.! The environment is family oriented and positive. The pre-K and religion program are impressive. However, now that he's at STM I'm not sure if St. Cecilia did all it could to adequately prepare him for high school. It seems like some of his friends from some of the other feeder schools were better prepared for high school, especially where technology is concerned. There is not much of a PE program here. The boys REALLY need a male coach and engage in activiy every day!!
