Hello everyone, my two children go to this school. I am satisfied with the progress of the children. I am also quite happy with the training approach. I like that the entire school schedule is known in advance. I like security at school, from the entrance on the intercom, to the traffic controllers on the corners of the school. If you have the opportunity to study at this school, I would recommend doing so. Great school, thank you all!

The best school we had so far. My son was on the remote kindergarten last year. He learned very well. We had a super awesome teacher Mrs Santiago and a coolest principal Ms Speroni. Everyone in school are very helpful. Ms Mariya , Ms Gina, Ms Cheryl and so on. We are so proud to be part of this school. Unfortunately, we moved to other state now. We will miss you all.

The best school ever! My son is 4 grade student. I transferred from PS 100 last year. Very professional teachers and wise and strong leadership! The principal of the school Madam Lisa Speroni every morning outside meets all students and their parents with a smile and charges everyone with positive energy! PS 253 has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2019! I would like to express my gratitude to all stuff of the school for appropriate support and good learning environment for our kids.

My child is in Kindergarden at this school. I would say that the gem of this school is Ms Mastropierro. She is an AMAZING teacher, so experienced, caring and kind. The atmosphere that she creates in class makes the children love school and thrive. The parent-teacher coordinator Ms Gina is very approachable and friendly. The school is clean and it seems like the staff is kind, open, and friendly (with the exception of security guards who are often very rude) However, the reading requirement that are pushed and the amount of testing done in Kindergarden is INAPPROPRIATE for children of this age group. The constant testing creates unnecessary amount of stress for five year old children, especially for the English language learners that make up about 1/3 of our class. I also feel that not enough time is dedicated to the arts. Otherwise, its a very nice neighborhood school.

The principal of P.S. 253, the parent coordinator, the faculty and staff are absolutely amazing!! It is obvious in everything they do, that the children come first. It is an environment that I am proud to send my daughter to and I am extremely pleased with the nurturing and care displayed by the principal and her staff. This school is a gem!!

I am proud to be a graduate of this public school, which was many years ago. I came from a big family and had recently immigrated to United States. We came here with just our clothes on our backs. My experience at P.S. was tough but I took alot away from that. One specific teacher Mrs. Beatrice, who taught 5th graders, made a big difference in my life. She enlisted in me the importance of self confidence and that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Though they were not her exact words but it was hers actions and continous attention to each student as an individual that I still remember to this day. From that point I went onto graduate high school, complete my bachelor's degree, and then entered medical school. I completed my residency and am currently an emergency medicine physician. Thank you Mrs. Beatrice, where ever you are!!
