We are incredibly happy with our experience at Mazel Day School! From the moment we enrolled our son, we felt welcomed and supported by the dedicated staff and warm community. The teachers are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely care about each child's growth and well-being.The curriculum is engaging and enriching, striking a perfect balance between academics and Jewish values. Our son has made wonderful friends and has grown so much, both academically and personally. We appreciate the school's commitment to creating a nurturing environment where our child feels safe and inspired to learn. We couldn't ask for a better educational experience for our family. Highly recommend Mazel Day School to any parents looking for a caring and supportive school!

This review was written in end of 2015.I see not much has changed . So here is a copy of what was written :This is our second and last year at this school. If you're looking for a school that creates an encouraging and educational environment with qualified staff, AVOID this school at all costs. They're absolutely terrible at everything the only thing that's working well here is .. Well nothing that helps your child in any way. Not only do they lack the knowledge, skills or basic effort- they extremely bad at labeling children with negative labels and unqualified diagnosis. What ever you do avoid these guys - check and double check before even coming near this school. Please take these words too heart - this is the worst school in Brooklyn!Actually , our child was withdrawn in the middle of the year because we were threatened by the lower school P that if we don’t label our child with a special need classification then he will be kicked out from this school . Stay away!!!! Moshiach will never come with such evil people working there !!! Unless you’re a generous contributor to this school they won’t leave you alone and will make you and your child crazy . The last thing you want is to make your child miserable- stay AWAY!!!! What they are learning academically is even behind public schools !! What a joke ! Save your $, your kid and your mental health !!!!!!! Do not attend this school !!!! Research and you will find many stories just like mine ( well ours )!!!!

I have been a parent at Mazel for over 5 years. My older child graduated from Mazel middle school and is doing well in HS. My younger child is in the 4th grade. Prior to Mazel, both kids attended various public schools in Brooklyn and Long Island. Mazel has been able to offer my kids stimulating, progressive environment as well as warm, caring atmosphere infused with Jewish values and heritage. Jews from all walks of life are welcome here, observant or not and no one is made feel inferior. The administration at Mazel welcomes parental involvement and feedback.

Mazel Day school is the premier Jewish day school in the South Brooklyn Area. They provide a top notch education in both scholastic and Judaic studies. Mazel caters to their community by providing Russian language education.

This school is amazing. We have been part of this beautiful community for close to six years now and I can't say enough about the quality of staff, quality of education, attention and care provided to our kids, and every single aspect of the school environment. Strong general studies, fluency in 3 languages (kids read and write in English, Hebrew, and Russian), rich Judaic studies component, various extracurricular activities (during the school day as well as on premises after school), caring staff that knows every child by name, and knows every single family in the school, and most importantly amazing children that come from truly outstanding families. Children are happy and excited to go to school every day - it doesn't happen often, especially in schools of NYC.

I had my son in Mazel for several years now and my second child will join him next year. The school had been an excellent experience for the whole family and I seen my child blossom academically and in character. He is advanced in math and science and the school had worked closely with him to provide him enrichment work to continue to challenge himself, while working with him on strengthening his academic weaknesses. As importantly he is growing up to be a respectful and confident young man all due to the character traits that are taught and emphasized in school.

Committed to the ideals and values of progressive education, Mazel Day School provides an engaging environment for both teachers and learners. As a part of their committed staff, it has been a pleasure watching the school grow and develop its commitment to staff development and providing for an education of the whole child.

Mazel Day School is the best school that you can ask for. It has a teacher to student ratio to a maximum of 1 to 6. The lessons are individualized and the teachers, reliable, qualified and personable . The teachers and faculty of this school are devoted and caring. The environment is nurturing, clean and the food very nutritious.

I have been a Mazel parent for almost 5 years now (my oldest daughter started attending Mazel Day School in Kindergarten and is now finishing Fourth Grade and my youngest will start Kindergarten there this September). I have to say that we as a family have been very happy with Mazel Day School on many fronts. As a pretty non-observant family, we have been concerned about pressure to observe more, but that has not happened. While the children learn about Judaism and religious traditions, there is no pressure on children or families to do anything they don't want to. Academically, the school is very strong - I can see by comparing notes with friends whose children go to even highly regarded public schools that what my daughter is learning is above and beyond the public school curriculum. Socially, Mazel Day School is a very nurturing environment. Because the class size is quite small - no more then 18 children for two full-time teachers - each child gets plenty of individual attention and teachers are able to adjust instruction to each child's particular strengths and weaknesses. I am very happy that I found Mazel Day School for my children.

My child blossomed in this school! She loves everything about it: teachers, friends, nurturing atmosphere. Thanks to this school she reads & writes in 3 languages: English, Russian, Hebrew and does not think there is anything extraordinary about it.

I am a teacher in this school and very much enjoy working here! It is a very warm and pleasant work environment. The administrative team works with each teacher to guide and direct them to success. I am learning a tremendous amount from being a part of the Mazel Day School team.

Mazel is a unique, wonderful school where we sent each of our 4 children and recommend to others almost daily! Mazel is succeeding in a truly difficult task that our community is struggling with a LOT - being robustly and apologetically traditional and innovative/forward looking at the same time.
