GOES has an excellent learning environment. The principal is stern, as is necessary in an inner city school setting, but she is also loving and very concerned with each individual student. The teachers are committed, positive instructors, who instill in their students a love for learning. At this institution, children are prepared for life.I highly recommend this school.

Great school, my son started earlier last year and I am satisfied with the academics. Every school has it's pros and cons. With this school I notice that the teachers genuinely care for the students. They are are stern but loving at the same time. Its seems like those that complain are the ones who are not actively involved in their children's education. It takes a village!

While several christian schools I have experienced are weak when it comes to academics. This school surpasses my expectations. Academics are rigorous and the teachers push the students to exceed in core subjects such as math, reading and science. School is very disciplined and structured. Children also receive a christian foundation. The summer enrichment program is unlike I have seen in our community. Ms. Hoyt and administrative staff seem to take pride in the school, when I arrive between 7-7:30am to drop off my children they are there and always greet parents with a smile. I would highly recommend this school.

My child currently attends this school and I am pleased with this school so far. The teachers provide the children with a great academic foundation. My child has blossomed under the nurturing, yet firm guidance of the teachers here. The school is safe and has a small teacher to student ratio. What I would recommend is someone fluent in another language such as Spanish, French etc to introduce the children to other languages. I remember learning Spanish in elementary school and my teacher would encourage us to speak Spanish to her as soon as she entered the room. The teachers at GOES introduce language, but someone who can converse fluently in another language would really help the children. Another recommendation is to utilize space within the school for gym instead of having the kids board a school bus for their physical activity program. My child and I are very happy with the Writing workshops, the Intro to music, the Science fairs and the Computer lab program this year. GOES encouraged creativity and allowed the children to design something during their dress down days. I hope the community will continue to support a very good school.

I am VERY disappointed with GOES. My son started in kindergarten, every year is a different teacher. As soon as the children get use to a teacher, they are gone. The staff turn over is horrible. The teachers speak to the children with no respect. For a christian school I don't see christian attitude.

My son started Great Oaks in Kindergarten at age 4 1/2 and did very well and is now in the first grade and continues to do well. If you are looking for a safe, clean & disciplined environment for your child then G.O.E.S is the place. How many schools in today's world start their day with worship and finishes their day with prayer? G.O.E.S is still one of the few . Ms Hoyt is the principal at GOES and is very big on discipline as she is on making sure the kids get a great education. The teachers are dedicated to teaching these young minds & they know each and every child regardless of the grades they are in. The school is very family oriented and is a community itself within the community. I strongly recommend this school to any parent who cares about their child's education and safety.

As a parent of Great Oaks Elementary School I want to say a special thankyou to the Principal and staff for the help they have given to my child. My son has improved in his academics and in his behavior. The Principal believes that each day should begin with worship. She also believes that her school must be extremely clean and organized. The Principal is involved with the menu planning so my son receives a catered meal each day at no extra charge. The teachers at Great Oaks Elementary in Brooklyn, New York are loving, patient, kind, giving and caring. My son was not reading at grade level and his teacher took the time tohelp him with his reading. Some of them have attended the best colleges in New York and are enrolled in leadership programs and rSpecialist
