The teachers at Get Set kindergarten School located on Snyder and Cortelyou road are abusive and rude to the children. The receptionists are unprofessional. My 4 children used to go to both sites but I took them out immediately.

I moved my daughter there from PS 249 for Prek and 1st Grade and it was the best thing that I could have ever done educational wise.

Beware of the East 45th Street & Avenue D Location. The Onsite Director Sharon is unprofessional and does not have the ability to deal with individuals outside of the Guyanese culture. She is strongly connected to her roots. One week she informed me that her staff threw out my daughter's food. She stated that my daughter ate snacks for lunch and did not have any more food for the day. I had to leave my job in the city to come to the daycare to bring my child's lunch. Why??? oh bcuz I had an issue with my child's family who are also Guyanese. She is friends with them and sided with them in the whole nonsense. Is that ghetto or what? On my child's last day Sharon, the Director told my daughter goodbye and rolled her eyes at me. Sharon needs to find a new profession bcuz she is unfit to supervise staff or children

Both of my children attended Get Set on Ave D from 2 years old to 5 years old. Ave D is the has the best teachers! Very caring and nurturing environment. Both of my children took the Gifted and Talented test and passed! My children were fluently reading in there PK program. I highly recommend Get Set on Ave D as an excellent foundation for any child.

It has been my experience that Get Set is more suitable as a Daycare geared toward watching kids while parents are at work. There academic program could use some improvement. However, the children that attend there are well taken care of.

My child attends the Get Set on Courtelyou Rd. Some of the staff are friendly & helpful but a majority of them are rude& do not want to do anything they don't HAVE to. My child came into the school at 4 years old ahead of her class academically. Instead of embracing this, she was forced to regress to the level of her classmates & told she was doing her work incorrectly by writing on 1 line verses writing on 2, as most of her classmates were accustomed to. I also feel this school is extremely money driven. They charge 3x as much for school trips then other schools & require you to pay almost $200, in addition to the weekly tuition, for 'senior dues' when your child is about to graduate. Overall, I think it is a good place if you are seeking a sitter instead of a SCHOOL.
