My child has been attending this school since kindergarten, and I can say that they have been very supportive, both academically and socio-emotional development, as he thrives as a scholar. The administrative staff and teachers are very welcoming and offer an array of supports, whatever the need maybe. I highly recommend Empower Lower Charter School to anyone who wants there little one to experience a culturally diverse school and academic setting that is dedicated to their students and also to the community.

My child actually loves the school and I feel like they loves they teachers as well The school has a good education system and I feel like it’s very safe for my child I will that I feel like the school is great for Any other child who wants to join it

My son got a transfer to this school. I appreciate each teacher, the school makes it easy to communicate with each teacher. I also seen improvement in his academic work. There are different programs and school functions that makes it fun for the kids.

I'm Cheryl Mack's mother, grade 8. Cheryl transferred to Empower from Excel at the end of last school year. She was welcomed with open arms and no judgement. She instantly like the school and the staff. I feel like my child is safer there and the staff and school itself is more professional. I only have good things to say about Empower. I'm glad I chose it out of the other options.

My grandson attends this school he's in the 3rd grade and overall my son and I are happy with them and so far has loved all his teachers since Kindergarten. The one thing I wish this school had is more activities for the students and after-school. My neighbors daughter attends a Charter school in Bedford Stuyvesant and her school has chess, Girl Scouts, they go on exciting field trips, they offer after-school, school band, choir, dance, etc...

Empower charter school is a great school for all families in our community. As a parent of kids in different grades I am satisfied with the academic program it prepares my child for the next grade. Empower also have me aware of any situation that involves my child emotional or psychological and my kids feel like they belong at this school. I love how this school values my child’s race, ethnicity, culture or background always have the children participate in different cultures and that is something we all need for the future. The principal and school leaders are also on task making sure they have a bond with the children and their families I definitely recommend empower charter school to many parents who want the best for their children in the community where we live in these kids will have high standards in education.

I love this school especially since Mr. Carrington the new principal took office in the lower school. Most of the staff are very friendly and caring. They're awesome at meeting the needs of students and their families. During the pandemic there was top notch support for the community. My sons enjoy going to school there. One is in the lower school and the other in the upper school. They're both doing well and feel loved at Empower. I would totally recommend this institution to anyone looking for a charter school.

The friendly and supportive staff at Explore Empower Charter School create a positive environment that allows my children to learn and thrive as a person. My Daughter Sherlissa's Roberts confidence was boosted upon entering Empower Charter. Her Grades were increased in the 80's and 90's. it was a total difference from Public school to Charter School. I salute Empower Charter and cant wait for my other daughter to get accepted:)

I taught at Explore for multiple years. It used to be a community of experienced and quality teachers, strong family involvement, decent to good leadership, with a strong curricular vision (especially in math), and trust. This past year, Explore's community lost all of these things. We had no principal, no PTA, and saw a mass exodus of the teaching staff. Many staff members were fired throughout the year and the large number that are not returning left for various reasons, among them a lack of quality leadership (they were bosses not leaders,) little to no space for teacher independence and creativity, the emergence of co-teaching with a large class size (30 students), and a philosophical misalignment with the recent "no-excuses" approach of the school. I know that families in the community need Explore to be the place that it once was. No, they need it to be better than it was at its best. I encourage Explore families to create a PTA and continue to voice their concerns with leadership.
