As a former teacher with 7 years of experience at Mountain Sun Community School, I can wholeheartedly say that it is an exceptional place to work and an ideal environment for children to develop a genuine love for learning. Even after transitioning to a new role, my support for the school remains unwavering. One of the most remarkable aspects of Mountain Sun is the sense of connection it fosters. From day one, I felt like I was part of a close-knit family, and that feeling only grew stronger over the years. The school's emphasis on learning from every experience has been instrumental in creating a nurturing and collaborative community that embraces growth and development. Our daughter has attended MSCS for 4 years, and she is now a second grader. We have watched her thrive academically and socially. She LOVES to go to school and is excited about learning! Mrs. Brigid knows each of her students as individuals and teaches them at their level of understanding and interest. She teaches with enthusiasm and the kids catch her excitement! She told me once that the model of teaching at MSCS allows her to work with each child until they present their best work. There is no acceptance of B or C work--she doesn't give grades! Instead she works with each individual until they achieve the goal. My daughter has been taught to understand material in depth, not by learning tricks or short cuts. They start with the preschoolers, working with their natural inclination to explore, and that continues on into the upper grades. The only way to understand how this works is to see it in action in a classroom visit. After 4 years at MSCS, I am still amazed to see how the teachers and students work together to create this peaceful, collaborative learning environment.

Mountain Sun Community School is a beacon in our community for educating a child. In addition to focusing on teaching our children the logical subjects of most schools, Mountain Sun goes way beyond to teach the whole child. Learning is a dynamic process, and Mountain Sun honors the excitement and freedom of education, as well as the fascination and growth of childhood.

Mountain Sun Community School truly commits to educating the Whole Child. Every teacher intimately understands EACH child in her classroom. She understands how they learn, how they play, and what their strengths and challenges are. This translates into an ideal learning environment where the child feels completely understood and supported in the journey of learning and education. I have 2 children at Mountain Sun and they both absolutely love going to school. Their passions are fueled here and their individual beings are so well cared for.

Mountain Sun has wisdom and heart at the core and has been so instrumental in putting a smile back on my son's face while re-engaging him with a tremendous love of learning. The field trips are meaningful, as are the service learning projects which truly provide a hands-on learning experience that is so rich! Smaller classes allow for that personalised attention which has helped my child thrive and be connected. He has matured in front of my eyes and has gained a sense of independence and responsibility with his work that feels really good. I love the philosophy and intention behind the different levels of learning. I love the dedication and mindfulness from teachers and administration. It is genuine and is why my daughter is also now here. I love that there are no restrictions to how far she can go. The caring atmosphere has had a positive impact on her becoming more settled, stable and mature.

I love this school and more importantly so does my son! The teachers are great and highly dedicated to the school's mission.
