Williamson County is known for its all inclusive atmosphere and special ed program program. This school is a shining example of how amazing public education can be. People have moved all over the country to live in this great county. LES is an amazing school that makes all children and their parents feel welcome. Both of my daughters went through this school and were very ready for the next steps in middle and high and beyond. Thank you!

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I read some of the other reviews and wanted to share my experience with the school. We have been at Lipscomb for two years and look forward to starting our other children in the system. Communication is good from both teachers and administration. In early elementary, it is clear that there is a concentrated effort to make sure every child is caught up. I can't speak to every special situation, but many students receive individualized help to catch up in reading, math, or work with speech therapy. Technology is well-integrated into both the classroom and homework. Importantly, this doesn't feel like an add on program, but a core component or Lipscomb's strategy. For instance, my child has several modes of math homework to choose from: flash cards, computer, making up story problems, etc. If we choose computer, his teacher sees the assessment and can discuss issues if he's not getting it or advance him he's learning faster than his peers.We did have a less-than-stellar Kindergarten teacher but she left the school after 2 years. I cannot say whether this was due to parent feedback or other factors, but it felt like administration was at least considering what they were hearing.Overall, five stars.

AS new comers to this area we were told we first must enroll in Williamson county Schools and secondly we must enroll at Lipscomb Elementary. We did and it has been a disaster. If your child is a "normal" child that is fits the mold they create and you are ok with solely focusing on state mandated test scores then you will be fine. However, if your child is outside of the mold and needs anything outside of teaching to the test you can expect push-back from the teachers and administration, no grace and complete frustration.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Lipscomb and their principal. This is an amazing place to send my kids. I honestly do not have one negative thing to say about Lipscomb.

We've been at Lipscomb for 2 years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the school. Both of my daughter's teachers have been amazing. The staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful. I'm so happy my kids get to go to LES! My 2nd child will start this fall.

Excellent faculty and staff. Many opportunities to get involved in the school and classroom. Top notch education in a loving and welcoming environment. We love the LES community!

The Principal is what makes this school terrible. I heard so many good things about it before Mrs. Contich because Principal. She has threatened and yelled at parents even ones whom are volunteers and others with special needs.

My child attended this school for four years. While the education they received seemed great, the children and their parents are the main reason I'm only giving this school two stars (and I'm being generous with the two stars). In the four years at Lipscomb, I've encountered one, maybe two parents that are generally nice and outgoing. The vast majority are the stereotypical Brentwood residents, which is disappointing to say. Closed off and elitist, they are incredibly unwelcoming of newcomers and this attitude trickles down to their children. Again, I realize it's unfair to lump all the kids together and say that they're all the same, but the majority of them are mirror images of their parents. My child never had any problems with bullying or making friends until attending Lipscomb and I'm thankful/grateful that those days are now behind us.

This school used to be top notched but there is now a culture of mediocrity that is eroding the environment. There are still many excellent educators here; they are not allowed to do their jobs effectively. We had children in this school from 2005 until last year and the decline was appalling. It was an excellent environment in 2005, as good as any private school in TN and by 2013 I would compare it with a top 20% Metro Nashville school. The principal is the difference. The previous administrator was hands-on. He greeted every child and every parent each morning. He knew every child by name and knew who their parents were and knew most of us by name. The current principal is rarely seen outside her office and it is completely baffling how she continues to hold this position. The only good thing I can say about this is it fed our kids into Brentwood Middle which is every bit as excellent as this school was 10 years ago.

I do not recommend this school. Our child never wanted to go to school while attending Lipscomb. The school is very over crowded and the teachers and staff seem very unhappy.

The parents and most kids are nice but the educational value is definitely not what it used to be. I think many people want a home in this elementary zone because it is the least expensive for a Brentwood school. LES also has a lot of "fun" stuff like dress up days, fall fest, fun run, etc. so there are opportunities to socialize. Most of the classroom teachers are good teachers but LES has several poor performers that really need to find another occupation, especially in the 5th grade. The administration does not communicate well and the specials teachers are average at best. Some people love Lipscomb but I doubt they have attended or visited other schools in Brentwood.

Lipscomb Elementary is an excellent school! Children have so many chances to be successful and learn here. The school offers everything from their own television station to a chorus and dance program. After school clubs are offered once or twice a year with interesting choices such as jewelry making, quilting and guitar. The academics are extremely challenging with advanced options for high performing students in reading and math. Teachers move at a quick pace but extra help is offered for students who might be struggling. The PTO is efficient, approachable and friendly with meetings every month for parents to attend if they like. The only negative is that the school is so great it is a little overcrowded, but I know the county is building new schools for the future. So very pleased!
