Our kids have really been thriving here.

My son has had a great experience here. I volunteer and being in the classroom I can see why. Crownhill is an excellent school. We love it!

I used to love this school when my children first started attending in 2011. Since then it has gone down hill. The teacher turnover rate is unusually high, and they don't seem to have a handle on their students. Bullying/aggressive behavior is dismissed as "just the child's personality." Which is great for the children who act out but unfair to the rest of the class. I would recommend looking into any other school.

Good school, but my kids transferred to a school that has a Montessori program and a Highly Capable Program. We love their new school for these programs and many other reasons! (Kitsap Lake Elementary).

The Bremerton School District seems unable to interpret psychological test results. They have refused to accept psychological evaluations from Mary Bridge and another national certified school psychologist with a PhD that offer a different conclusion to their school psychologist. The school district made up an adaptive functioning deficit that does not exist by giving the teacher's questionnaire to a staff member who has never observed him in class or interacting with his peers. One would also think that 2 independent evaluations would be taken into consideration. Alas, that is not the case Bremerton School District psychologists believe they are the supreme authority and believe that no one should question their decision. Parents are not an equal team member in the IEP process and are treated like they are stupid. The reality is that parents know their children better than anyone.

After moving around the county a few times we have expierienced 4 different elementaries and crownhill is by far superior. Love the teachers, love the dedication to the children's success and love the support I see from other parents. This school seems very engaged with the students, from the principal to the front office staff.
