My children and grandchildren attended and now attend this school. The teachers and staff were inviting and welcoming when I needed to discuss anything about the children. They called when any issues came up. The teachers here care about their students. The home and school program is excellent. Would like to see more parents and grandparents get involved with it. I really love this school district and support them in all there efforts to provide a safe and learning environment!

The community is terrible, the emotional support is nonexistent, there is no lenience with anything. Looking at someone the wrong way: detention. Late to class: detention. Laughing: detention. They are always on you for everything no matter what you do.

It is unbelievable on how poorly this school emotionally treats it's students! Last time I was there, 90% of the teachers didn't even try to teach their students! They just gave them a packet, and nothing else! Also, the school has little to no support for their children's wellbeing! It's like these teachers were found off of the side of a road! The kids are always starting conflict, so if the school tried at all to shut it down, it probably wouldn't arise and turn into a fight! But instead, they just let this fester, until the kids snap! At this school, I have had to deal with so much discrimination, it's insane. I would not recommend this school, as it does very poorly in teaching and counselling.

As an adult, thinking back on my experiences at this school makes me feel so sad about the way that I was treated. The staff did not seem to truly care for children. I remember being 12 and forgetting to bring a feminine product one day, so I went to the nurse's office to politely ask for one and they VERY snarkily told me to "be more prepared" in the future. As if a 12 year old who just started her cycle immediately knows how to prepare for these times, especially considering irregularity. It was completely unacceptable for a grown woman to be harshly saying that to a child who needed gentle guidance and assistance. I also remember being 10 and being late to school one day because my mother took too long to get ready and also lived pretty far away from the school since my parents were divorced. When I got to the school, the front desk woman angrily asked me, "WHY ARE YOU LATE?" As a TEN year old, I was flustered and just said "my mom lives far away..." She angrily shook her head and gave me a late slip, and treated me as if it was entirely my fault that I was late. It should be common sense that if a CHILD is late to school, it is probably their parent's fault. Finally, I remember being late to class one day because the school dean blocked me off from passing a hallway as we waited for ALL of the 8th graders to exit the cafeteria. There was nothing I could do to get to class any faster, so I ended up being late to art class. When I explained the situation to the teacher, he told me my lateness was unexcused and entered an unexcused lateness into my report card. I'm not sure if things have changed for the better since then, but I highly doubt it. There is so much unfairness at this school and children are treated as adults - with all the responsibility, but none of the power. Children are often blamed for things completely out of their control, and it is shameful.

We are stuck so we are trying to make the best of it. We try to supplement educational experiences for our son because they don’t offer a lot of academic extra curricular activities to the students. What’s missing: opportunities to enter county essay contest, math contests such as 24 math, robotics (they have science olympiad and it’s a joke: they go unprepared to competitions, used past years display boards and borrow equipment from other schools, it’s embarrassing.) National History Day Contest, Army Education Outreach for STEAM Program, STEM video game challenge, Math Counts competition, volunteering awards, Reading Olympics. I could go on, the bottom line is, this is a borderline, basic school with ridiculously high taxes that think things are just Fabulous here. Unfortunately, I didn’t grow up here, but 95% of the kids in this school have parents who graduated here and stayed here.

Thank you, Chichester Middle school, students, parents and community members for making CMS the BEST Middle school I have EVER experienced ....so appreciative of all the hard work put into my daughters education!!!

I have and have had concerns for their academic program as my children are not advancing. I was very upset when I found out that open book tests are standard practice and presumably to meet the criteria necessary for state funding.

So sad for the kids trying to do better in this school. It's a crime that there are not other options for these kids. To the parents....I feel sad for you if you have a child striving to be their best; what a struggle it will be for you and them. We moved out of this district a few years ago and while things may appear OK at Chichester School district you are totally being underserved by this district. It's a very sad and depressing thing that my child had to spend a few years at the middle school; you people should try to do better by your kids, there are much better district in PA and NJ, but you have to move and see for yourself the differences. I didn't realize what a total disservice I was subjecting my child to until we moved into a much better, move academically advanced school district. The differences are amazing when you see a more cutting edge school and what can be offered for your child. If you have an academically advanced child there would be much, much more invested in them instead of this border line education they are receiving at Chichester. let's face it, your tax dollars are going into programs for troubled kids. you are not getting your money's worth!

This school, the district and the townships that comprise this district are pathetic. You have absolutely outrageous taxes in this district and the middle and high school are a mini version of our neighboring Chester high school. Foul language is the standard among the student body. Graduation rates is somewhere in the 60% to low 70% range and post secondary acceptance in even lower. The parents are fooling themselves if they think "Chi is the place to be." Congratulations to the few kids who rise above all the rubble and go on to be productive members of society. This is a horrible district with these poor kids having no choice but to attend these horrible schools or choose cyber school. They need to create a charter school; there are plenty of kids that want to do better and have the abilities to achieve more than the average student;that will never happen because the students with problems are the focus. In my opinion they do not do enough for the high achieving students in this school. Honest, the teachers seem great, but all the great teachers have a hard job because the behaviour problems take up so much of their time. My advice: Move right across the bridge to N.J.

The teacher's and all of the staff members are great. It is the kid's using bad language and threatening other kid's has to be stopped.

Nothing like having you child come home and tell you the kid sitting next to them says they will "f**k you up if you don't give me the test answers" almost every day. Gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. Put my home up for sale the next day.

Honestly I think the middle school is in recovery from bad leadership. The teachers at middle school have to work extra hard to bring students up to speed from a elementary level. I do believe the new principal is going in the right direction with student accountability. I have met some great teachers as well. Teachers want to motivate the student to grasp a concept while holding him or her responsible for their work construct. If your a proactive parent your child will get a great education!

I am a student at this school. CMS has a fight almost everyday. The food isn't that bad, the teaching isn't that bad either, well at least on the 6th Grade Cougars. Principal Salamone is okay, but he is a little on the loud side, but I love him. Chi gets involved with many things, wrestling, volleyball, football, colorguard, and much more. I would give this school a 8.5/10.
