Hillside is such a great Junior High. The size is just right for my kids. Teachers care and genuinely want good for their students. Counselors go above and beyond. Coaches want their athletes to have positive experiences. Thank you Hillside Staff! We are so lucky to have you in the Boise School District.

My daughter keeps telling me about how her friend is getting harassed by the vice principal and the principal and is getting suspended because a girl using a no contact order to bully and harass him while the VP helps her. The school has also done nothing to help my daughter from being bullied even when there has been proof and they always say "well her friends don't count as valid witnesses" like who else is supposed to be there when it happened?? I have heard very good things about the teachers and when I attend the meetings and after school activities they have I have always thought they were chill.

Terrible school. They turn off the vending machines during the day and serve terrible school lunch.

I'm really enjoying my stay at Hillside Junior High. For clarification, I'm an 8th grade student with little to no problems with grades. I started my hillside career in 7th grade, and I was here throughout Covid-19. Anyways, I'm first going to talk about the faults. The students who fall behind struggle to get back up. The teachers really do seem to care, but they get frustrated if you're confused on a subject for too long. Also, their's little to no support for kids being picked on. That's the only issues I really noticed. Otherwise, it's pretty great. Their's some great diversity of the students, the teachers will almost always let you redo missing or late assignments/tests, and the sports scene is doing great.

I went here for about a week and I think it was the worst school I've ever been to out of the twelve schools I've ever been to it was by far the worst and would NOT send your kid here even if your life depended on it

As a parent of two teen girls at this school, I've been happy with the quality of education they have received. Hillside's small school atmosphere has been a great transition for us....the teaching staff are very engaged with the kids and I feel like my children are not just another number.
