Our kids have had an awesome experience at Cynthia Mann. I feel like every teacher has cared for my kids and gone above and beyond. It’s a good supportive community and I like how engaged their staff is with students and the events that they have. My kids feel cared for and have continued to grow academically, as well as socially and emotionally. I couldn’t have asked for a better school experience for my kids.

My daughter is in third grade and we are very disappointed in The Principal and her third grade teacher.. we had voiced our concerns and we’re definitely not Heard!! After communicating our needs there was 0 priority made to provide any solution to the problem! When I went to get a meeting to clear the air I was told I would have to wait two weeks… This is not acceptable for me or for my child and totally unprofessional- my child has an anxiety issue and has a therapist due to Anxiety- they were made aware of this and yet still NO provision was made to meet my daughter’s emotional needs WHATSOEVER!! Definitely do not recommend this school-especially the principal who seems to put on a sweet front but is actually quite aggressive!

As is typical of the schools that comprise the Boise School District, Cynthia Mann Elementary School is an overall outstanding performer, delivering quality education at a very discrete and personal level (based upon my direct experiences). The teachers have demonstrated to me, consistently, their willingness to go well above and beyond their baseline obligations as teachers (if I may) and reach out to each student, individually. The willingness and ability of numerous teachers and support staffers (at CMES and elsewhere within BSD) to make the effort to understand even the most elusive and complicated of potential barriers and impediments presenting learning challenges allowed my wife and me to initially become aware of his ADHD condition and his potential for being a gifted student. We saw none of this in our student, other than to notice that he was particularly inquisitive (he likes to take things apart and put them back together again). Thanks to the commitment to the higher objectives of educators and education, both of our children are thriving in the programs they have been "re-assigned" to. The children are happy in their respective schools (CMES and Collister) and are receiving quality, challenging, stimulating education from some of the finest teachers I have ever been exposed to. I'm from the northeastern USA, and I believe my children are getting a better education in Boise than I got in New York State.

My son has attended kindergarten here this year. We have nothing but good things to say about Cynthia Mann. His teacher has far exceeded any of our expectations. Her communication with us is always thorough and quick to respond. The things my son has learned is incredible and he has fun as well. He always looks forward to going to school. The principle is kind, friendly, organized and present. Present with the kids and present saying hello to parents as they pick up the kids.

I'm really displeased with my child's first grade teacher. Her expectations are unrealistic and the consequences that she imposes fail to motivate and hinder learning. I've raised concerns with the principal, but his actions have failed, thus far, to get the teacher to improve her practices. He did get her to alter her written expectations. I would never wish my family's experience on another family. I advise exercising the open enrollment option if you have a first grader.

We have had some good experiences with teachers and some really bad ones. There is a lot of bullying at this school. We had bullying issues from first grade through fifth grade. The principal and teachers don't want to hear about anything. Students are taught only enough to past state tests. I thought school way a place to learn not just pass a test. My sons fourth and grade teachers did more to help than any principal ever did regarding the bullying. Students are taught only enough to past state tests. I thought school was a place to learn not just pass a test. He did pass the tests. We moved to a school with better management that cares about learning and the students. Very happy with the new school!

Did like this school at first then took a complete nose dive. Both my kids had problems with bullies and unsupervision on playground during recess. Poor supervision. Also had problems with teacher that claimed my youngest wasnt progressing and not at gradelevel. School tested my child without me there as well! Needless to say we moved and the 2 months at their new school no problems and my youngest proved on tests that hes actually about gradelevel. How funny is that?! The teacher failed at cynthia mann failed in my opinion!

Not impressed with the new principal. Recess is not fun for the kids anymore. Too many restrictions on what kids can do anymore. What happened to kids having fun? My kids want to move to another school now. Thankfully, they still love their teacher this year.

I love the teachers and the leadership has been great at Cynthia Mann. My kids love school and I think this speaks volumes. It's a good sign when my kids are upset when school is out. The students are nice and my kids have made good friends here.
