We moved from Boston (MA) to Boca Raton in August 2024. Our biggest challenge was related to schools. After one semester, I am confident that we made the right choice for our 3 kids. Grandview offers excellent education while being completely welcoming, and we genuinely feel like it’s a family! My children feel safe and surrounded by outstanding teachers, professionals, and peers. The environment is warm and respectful, with an extraordinary ability to include and develop each student’s potential. Above all, my children are happy at school. Thank you, Grandview, for all the warmth and support! We are blessed to have found this extraordinary community!

5 stars. There are always going to be things that can be made better, and at Grandview I have noticed that they are always trying to solve problems by making changes. The status quo isn’t good enough. My kids have excelled here at Grandview, and even though one of my children struggles in her classes and another one is more advanced, i feel as if they’re never made to feel different than other students and are always given opportunities to do their schoolwork in ways that benefit them. I love the project based learning that they’re moving towards.

Avoid, waste of tuition. Read this review before their admin writes others just to bury the truth. High cost. Education is very basic. They get away with calling it innovation so they do not have to teach the kids a thing and then they cannot get into the schools they want. Leadership is ineffective. They play favorites with staff and kids. Make up awards to suit their needs and the teacher kids will always take priority. They decide their student government members not by election but by who the teachers like, in most cases their own kids. Look somewhere else or homeschool your kid

Both of my children have been extremely happy at Grandview. They are able to pursue their own passion projects and give back to the community in many ways. We have been able to participate in the arts, sports, and innovation. The teachers have been excellent and always know how to push them to work at their full potential. They love the food staff and the delicious food that is offered. They truly look forward to going to school each day because they feel safe, loved, and challenged.

Terrible. Looking forward to withdrawing my child and going elsewhere. A total waste of $20,000 and 1 year of my child's life. I just hope she can catch up when she goes to a real school next year.

I couldn’t be happier with our family’s Grandview experience. It is a wonderful community.

Grandview Preparatory School has been, and continues to be, a great school for my child. The teachers and staff are student-centered and provide indiviualized learning. Strong emphasis placed on character and community. Programming and opportunities in the arts are incredible; from dance and music concerts to an annual art show. Well done! We are really happy here.

Terrible place for my child. Though the experience was a hard lesson in the loss of over $20,000, I am so glad my child found a better place to thrive.

My daughter just graduated with honors high school at Grandview. This was a wonderful school for her. They have an atmosphere of family. The students are close friends and there’s clubs, an Innovation program, theater, dance and Spanish class. It’s an enriching environment. Teachers are extremely supportive and caring. I recommend you tour the school and see for yourself. This is a hidden gem in the academic sense. Well located in Boca Raton.

Terrible academics. The head of school has no idea how to run the school. Basketball is the top priority at Grandview and the basketball players get away with bullying and bad behavior

The school charges a high tuition to begin with, then nickel and dimes you along the way, along with the Gala which is a black tie affair to raise money, tickets for kid's performances, costumes which are only worn once, high interest if you make tuition payments. Let's not forget the $1200 lunch fee, regardless of kid's ages, like a kindergarten kid will eat about as much as a high school student. They have gone from good to greedy!

The school just goes with a new trend every moment. NO planning. No real teaching, just project after project that sounds good but teaches nothing but busy work

We just love this school, the staff, the curriculum, the aftercare everyone is just so friendly and caring. Very up with the changes in the real world and eager to keep up with the times. Pool and other sports facilities are excellent.

Any parent looking into Grandview for their child needs to know that the academics are subpar. In our experience, the school does a good job of hiding this fact. There are some teachers that go above what is required or expected of them from the administration and teach to the standard level, otherwise expect your child to be learning at below level. The idea that they personalize learning is just not true, it is a marketing strategy.

Terrible follow through and consistency in all areas of the school. Each year will be completely different (not for the good) with no notice to the families. It is not uncommon to see multiple teachers coming and going throughout the school year. The Head of School runs the place like and experiment, changing policies and curriculum on a whim, at the expense of the students. It seems at this point that the Head is just putting out fires as they arise. It's quite a shame to see such a downward spiral for Grandview. We are moving our children at the end of this year and not looking back. We are among many many other families doing the same. Academics are nothing special either.

Grandview is an incredible and family-oriented school. All schools have its flaws. Nevertheless, I have so much good things to say about this school. This school has numerous school activities. In particular, it has an excellent drama and music programme embedded into their curriculum, which made the children get out of their nutshells and allows them to shine. They have a great Jr. Innovation Programme, of which my child is currently part of, empowering children to discover their passion and learn at the same time. My child has flourished academically and has made lasting great friends, As a parent, I also got to know and made friends with the parents in my child's class, her teachers, and the staff. This school has definitely given my child a well-rounded life experience and lasting learning. It has a great leader who instils good moral lessons to the kids - the school's creed sums it all!As a parent, when I drop off my child every morning, it feels good on my drive to work, to think that my child is going to have a great day at school as she is greeted by her teachers at the carline and being warmly welcomed by the older girls and staff as she enters into the reception. And when I pick her up after school, the glimmers in her eyes are indescribable. My child has been in this school for 2 years and fitted in like a glove with the school. It has identified her strengths and has helped her get to where she is now. We felt so lucky to have found Grandview as this has also become an extended home for my child.

When I take the time to review things, I take it very seriously. No school is all good or bad. We have had an overall very good experience here (really a 4.5). Administration is proactive and very involved. They know who each kid is--your child is not just a number. As a private school they need to solicit money (or raise fees) but they do it appropriately, respectfully, and creatively (e.g., a lottery to win free tuition). Academics focus on long term projects, student led learning, creativity and problem-solving rather than rote learning and homework...and the research backs them up that this is better for the children long run. I have a pretty good handle on what my friends' kids are doing in other schools and in most areas I think they are way ahead, but lower school math does seem to be behind. Having only one teacher per year has the positive effect of making it a small family-like environment--but if there is an issue with the teacher (which we have this year) we have to face either disrupting our child by switching schools or just trying to make it through the year. In a larger school we might just switch classes. We've had such great interactions with the caring people there but this one teacher really is not always handling her class effectively and is definitely playing favorites with kids and treating them differently. Its sad, because my review last year was a 5 (or more!). The school has immense promise & a worthy mission but needs to be more on top of what the teachers are doing (not just what they *say* they're doing). However, this is our unique experience & I'm looking forward to returning to an unqualified 5 next year....when friends ask me, I say YES this is a great school.

Grandview focuses on growing the whole individual, with character development woven throughout the educational experience. It is so much more than just a school, it is a vibrant community. We have four children in the lower school and are in our second year of attendance. Grandview has met the needs of all of our children, as very unique individuals in both character and educational needs. And, as a parent, I always feel welcome to participate in activities or discuss any needs that I may have for my family. My children only complain that the school year is too short! It's true that Grandview's approach is different but that is what attracted us to the school. It's about nurturing the love of learning, individuality, and innovation. It's about challenging yourself in ways you never envisioned. It's about thinking differently and passionately to drive your own success and happiness. It's about embracing the world around you.

Grandview is flexible and fosters independent, project based learning for students capable of such programs. One drawback is their science department and lack of labs. They will however make accommodations to outsource learning opportunities when necessary. The POSITIVE "can do" attitude that encourages real learning and experience is their very best attribute which, in the end is probably better for helping to grow future "world citizens" than strict, "by the book" old-school academia.

The faculty, teachers, facilities and athletics at Grandview are top notch and more than on par with what parents expect of a preparatory school in Boca Raton, FL.
