Its a school that plays favorites with the better off families kids, and will punish kids of lesser wealth for defending themselves. I would suggest if your of a middle or lower class to send your kids to a different school. My two boys went to this school and when a child hit one of mine in the face with a book my child punched him in the face. That day my child got a week suspension while the initiating child(of a wealthier family) got to return to class the next day even tho he only had a fat lip and my child had a broken nose. VERY biased school.

My child was bullied, a kid broke three of her teeth same kid spitt on her face in past, but Principal said that kid is a good kid that made a mistake and it was an accident, and protected the kid, my child incident report When from 0 to 8. that same day my child had 8 incident report on her record. It made me Wana move back to Africa since I am from Somalia. My child loved school but ever since she started having nightmare on daily basis. If you have any concern about a teacher he always says they are perfect and you feel something is wrong with your child I wish I had not exposed my child with that school now she knows she is black and people hate her for it. I know there are better schools and better people then what I have seen in normandale Hills Elementary school.

I love Normandale Hills Elementary. If you are looking at Normandale Hills, then be sure to ask about the Amigo program.

My daughter is now in 2nd grade and has been there since kindergarten. This is our first child to go to school so I had very high expectations. And I am beyond pleased! Love every teacher she has had, love the rest of the staff, and I feel that Mr. V is a fabulous principal! I can tell he truly cares about the success of the students that attend his school!

My son had an excellent experience at Normandale Hills from Kindergarten through 5th grade. During his 6 years there, he only had teachers who were caring and creative and made learning fun. He went to Middle School fully prepared....mostly due to the excellent teachers and staff at NH.

NOT happy with NH!!! If you have a special needs child I would NOT reccomend this school!!! Principal Vollmuth would rather call the cops on your child if there's a problem than call you the parent. That's what he told me when he had an issue with my child... saying that he( principal) didn't want to have to call me, and next time he WILL call the cops if my child lays on the ground and won't get up. Then he told me I should discipline my child at home. To say the least I am very displeased!!!

Had two kids go through this school finishing last year. Overall, it is a good school but it used to be excellent when Mr. Lee was there. The new leadership is not measuring up. If you have an average kid, things will be great because most of the teachers are great. But is you have a kid on either lower or higher end and need to deal with the principal, it is very difficult. He is trying very hard to be involved but falls short because he does not have a good judgement, etc.--you either have it or you don't. A lot of long term teachers left in the 5 year period after Mr. Lee left, which speaks volumes! He replaces them with great ones but then looses them. As a parent I did not feel listened to and I am sure teachers feel the same. Yet, it is still a good school, just disappointed since it was the best before.

My daughter just finished the first grade at NH and it was a wonderful experience all around. I couldn't ask more from her teacher, she was nothing short of excellent. The principal is ALWAYS present and involved, he makes sure the students are safe, learning, and happy to be at school. The office staff always spoke to me like a friend or family member, the nurse is kind and always took appropriate measures and the cafeteria was always clean and lunch was served with a smile. A wonderful environment for elementary students and their families.
