Very glad and grateful that 2 of my older kids went to Northpoint and my 3rd child is currently attending Kindergarten there. The system they have in place is excellent. The teachers and staffs are wonderful. Kids are in good hands at this school.

This is a great school. Small school that only goes up to 4th grade. Class size is 24 kids and under, but the teachers are attentive and the programs they have are excellent. The grading of this school right now says 6/10, but it's definitely should be at least an 8/10.

We have LOVED our time at Northpoint. I think we've only had two teachers that our kids haven't loved so far. The staff has been great to work with and our kids enjoy (for the most part) being at the school (as much as a kid can enjoy it). If I had to go back and do it again, I would choose this district for sure!

Both of my boys went to Northpoint. It's an excellent school. The teachers are very friendly and care about the students. Class sizes are in the low 20s so teachers would have enough time for every students. I don't know why it only has a 5/10 star rating, but from what I've seen, it should be at a 10/10. Great school, great district, great teachers, and great system.

Great school. The staffs are very friendly. Class size is small so the students get a good amount of attention and easier tracking. My boys have wonderful teachers that are always on top of their progress and they communicate via email frequently. The Seesaw is terrific and I think every teacher should use it, but only a few does.

I have had one child go through this school and have one still going there. I would and do recommend it to anyone with small children. If your child is behind they catch it, if your child is ahead they catch it and they put your where they need to be to teach and challenge them. Northpoint has a very friendly staff ready to teach our kids in a fun positive manner. Over the years there have been a few issues, brought to the attention of the staff and the issues were resolved. Very proud to be a Northpoint family. Thanks Northpoint!!

We were so happy here until Mrs. Kahoun became the new principal. At this point, the entire vibe of the school changed. She doesn't seem engaged in the school. My son was bullied all year. Two of the injuries required us to see his doctor. I have, also, witnessed very violent acts from kids while volunteering at the school. We asked for help from the school and received none. The only action the school took was to put my son in counseling without my permission. With the second injury, we contacted the school again and were offered no help. After the 4th serious injury, we wrote a letter to the Superintendent and had another meeting with the principal. When asked why the bully's parents were never contacted, we were told that the school gets busy and the ball was dropped. We were also told that they only had 4 recess paras on the playground for over 100 kids and in no way could they possibly see or keep every child safe. This is victim blaming and it's just like saying because a child has glasses he deserves to be picked on. If you want it to stop take away his glasses. It sounds so ridiculous to us but the principal is a strong believer in this philosophy.

My two sons have had a very good education here. Our only concern is the lack of music programs- as in none. My boys love the school, the teachers are receptive and helpful. I loved the previous principal. We have not have much contact with the new principal. She doesn't seem as visible as Mr. Callahan who was always visible at busses, within the school, and during various events. I believe the district is moving in the right direction concerning academics.

Northpoint is a great neighborhood school. Children are taught at the level they are assessed at. So, if they are in 1st grade, but read at a 2nd grade level, they get 2nd grade curriculum. Or if they are in 2nd grade, but at a 1st grade Math level, they get assigned to a group that helps them catch up. I really think this approach is great. The kids get iPads to learn on and some tech time to keep them up with technology. All around great clean school too.

This school has failed my child. We have been forced to do as the staff and counselor say is in the best interest for my child. However this has led to more problems and the the inability to treat my child as a individual and expect him to be a robot. If your child has personality and is a self thinker I would advise you to look at another school. We have had many meetings and phone conversations with staff and counselor. They just talk down to you and think there must be a problem at home. If they talk down to parents...just make you wonder how they treat the non robot children. Northpoint is quick to not deal with issues between students and will send home or suspend students for what one student says not what a teacher has actually witnessed. I will be changing schools for my child at year end. This is how bad it is! Another comment I read about the principal is right on about thinking he's better than you. Also the district lines are completely messed up. More than likely your child's friends will live 5 plus miles away and makes for staying in the same school with other students nearly impossible. Be prepared to defend your child if they go to Northpoint.

Northpoint is awesome. The teachers are caring and instructive. We are involved with the PTO and participate in school activities fairly regularly. We are never disappointed! My preschooler and kindergartner love it as much as we do. It's the best elementary school in the area and gives top districts like Wayzata a run for their money with a much more reasonably sized student body. I would recommend it to anyone in the twin cities area! The intermediate and high school in the SLP district are continuing to move their curriculum to be more technology and teach-to-the-student focused. Everyone can succeed here! My kids will be well educated and happy growing up in this school and district!

This is an amazing school!!! I sent both of my daughters there. They have both recieved the best education, attention and support from their teachers. They have taken time out to educate them on their levels and what they are struggling with or advancing in. They are very versitile and all so genuine and devoted to the children. (side note... and the principle is easy to look at.... ahem!)

We moved to the area two years ago and my daughter attended the school in our disctict and struggled through the whole year- it was painful to watch. My husband I decided to open enroll her into Northpoint and it was the best decision. Her teacher was a wonderful, caring lady who kept in touch with me on a regular basis and was great with my daughter- that year alone helped my daughters confidence in herself and in her more difficult subjects- math and spelling. I am so glad we made the switch. The parent involvement is wonderful and SUPER active too. We now have our other daughter there and she is loving it as well. Northpoint is an amazing school and we greatly appreciate all the teachers and staff did for our family.
