i got expelled after a rushed and ignorant assessment by the board that completely failed to take into account nuance, my special needs and context. additionally, this school was an absolute hellhole. one staff member approached me on the basis of my pro-palestinian statements and asked, literally, "So you hate Jews?" furthermore, as a trans girl, i found it extremely difficult to find a bathroom to use as i was not allowed to use staff bathrooms and afraid to enter gendered bathrooms. this school is a cold, heartless place that will eat your soul.

The Principal Ms. Turner is very Hypocritical and doesn’t care about her students and only cares on how other people view her. The mask policy here is terrible. For example today was picture day and the photographer and a couple of the teachers had there masks off inside which shows that she doesn’t care about the policy. I don’t feel safe at Owen with ms turner being our principal. Don’t go to this school

Sorry to say, I have been disappointed by the Administration and several teachers in their flippant attitude toward my child and their needs.

My son gained an excellent education here in an environment that supported his development into a young adult who understands how to show respect, support and empathy toward others and to appreciate differences of opinion and background. There are many extracurricular opportunities for students, and efforts are made to make them accessible to all students. As a parent, I found the administrators, counselors and teachers all to be accessible and interested in their students' success. The principal has done an exceptional job of developing a strong team and a cohesive mission that is student-centered and relevant to their preparation for the future, as well as engaging the greater community in supporting the school and the mission.

I disliked the previous principal who was there until about 5 years ago, because they allowed several teachers, two guidance counselors, and an assistant principal to falsely accused at least one family's parents of mistreatment., which was very inaccurate. Also, in my 11th grade year I took World History AP because I was led to believe by a guidance counselor that colleges would honor the class credit. None of the colleges I have attended honored it. Finally, Owen never prepared people for college while I was there.

I went to Owen all 4 years of school. I loved the size of the school and classes. The school was small enough where teachers and class mates remembered you. There was plenty of acitivities and sports for everyone.

I transferred here my sophomore year and loved most of my teachers at first. The good teachers will help you and defend you if you put forth an effort to pass. The Honors and AP teachers, especially. I made good grades while I was there and most of my teachers liked me even though I asked a lot of questions. However, when I got pregnant my senior year, a lot of their support went out the window despite my success at keeping my grades up. One teacher even revoked her vote for me to get a scholarship at the senior awards. My guidance counselor tried to get me to transfer to the alternative school even though I was only pregnant the final semester. She said I would be a 'distraction', even though I was not the first student to get pregnant and I definitely wasn't the last. The school itself is huge and clean and organized but the staff and student attitude is the problem.

I am so glad my 3 kids have gone to Owen High. They have all excelled in both high school and college. The teachers all care and encourage parent involvement. The principal is very visible and accessible by both students and parents. She doesn't play. Any issues are resolved immediately. Great spirit and Valley Pride. Go Horses!

I know my daughters are safe and secure here. Their teachers are the best, and everyone really cares!
