My kids have attended Sandstone for 5 years now. I like their character development, their hard stance on bullying, and the teachers have all been great. My kids are Native American and one of them is special needs. Sandstone has been accommodating and sensitive to my kids' needs.

My 4th grader is in Mrs. Erin's class and we love her teaching style. She goes out of her way to help her student. The staff takes bullying problems seriously and try to stop it at the start. We have enjoyed this year so far.

My children have been going to this school for years and it seems with the new principal its went downhill fast. There are ridiculous parking issues and traffic congestion. They dont have a big enough lunchroom for everyone so they have 20 minutes to eat and get out which is not enough time. They dont have a kitchen so the food gets shipped over from castle rock middle school so there's never enough of whatever my kids want. Or it doesnt get made in time for my kindergartener to be able to get the choice of what she wanted. 90% of the classrooms are just big rooms with partition walls up so the noise from other classrooms and traffic through the halls can be very distracting. Also with no walls or doors what happens if someone trying to harm the kids gets into the school? Theyre instructed to hide under their desks with the lights off....like thats going to save them!!! They do have some teachers that are good and that we'll miss if we change school and the secretary is awesome but im pretty disappointed in this school lately. Seems like things just keep getting worse so ill probably be transferring my children somewhere else next year.
