I love Beartooth Elementary!!! Striving forward under new administration, Beartooth is making big strides and is becoming a community centered school with student led projects and activities. A strong character education strategy has been implemented over the past two school years with the results of higher attendance rates, rising proficiency scores, and lots of smiles and laughing. We work hard, we play hard, we learn more every day.

Classes are taught at a low level given a high number of low income students that are behind in their studies. Advanced students do not learn math and english at their level and are constantly given instruction on material they already know. Administration practices grade inflation, so parents are not told via report cards if their children are falling behind grade level. Students are not testing well on standardized tests and this is not surprising, because students are not expected to do work at home to reinforce what is taught in school. There are some fabulous teachers in this school (particularly K-2) that can provide kids a great education, but all it takes is one or two mediocre teachers to set your kids behind.
