Going to this school every day makes me so nervous because you never know when someone’s gonna spread the next rumor about you.

I have had 3 students in this high school and with each has come unique experiences which has shaped my review. This district is more challenging than the districts within the area and with Ferris right there it does give more opportunities to the students. With all of that said they do have some staff members that are discriminatory and retaliatory towards students. If you are a parent that is very involved it is not something that they like. Constructive feedback is not welcome by administration as well which is the key fundamental to improving any process or person. That of course should not stop you from being very involved if you have a student in this district. It is a very important role and the only way to get things to change. Just know that you will be frustrated and feel like you are unheard as a stakeholder in not only your advocating for your own children but for the good of the school district. There are some GREAT teachers at BRHS! Unfortunately, the ones that are discriminatory and retaliatory bring down my assessment for teaching. Some teachers only care about the popular students or being the cool teacher. While it is important to make connections with students no student should feel like a teacher does not like them. This does not make the student feel comfortable, valued, or accepted within the school when they experience this type of behavior from adults in the building.Best advice I can give is if you think your student has any type of disability get the evaluations done externally and then push the district to accommodate your child. Teachers are not good at sharing the information that is needed to realize that there might be somethings that need to be addressed.

I have one graduate and two current high school students at BRHS. While no school is perfect, BRHS gets a lot of things right. Adults care about kids...even when kids think otherwise. My kids are challenged by the classes offered at BRHS...and they have a lot to offer (great band, choir, theatre, and fine/industrial arts programs, advanced/AP courses, dual enrolment classes, etc.)! Simply put, no other district in the area can offer my kids what they offer. They have a wide variety of sporting and extra curricular activities to engage kids. I appreciate all that BRHS/BRPS does to help kids :)

See this school has a lot of teachers that do not care enough about students to be teaching especially in the virtual school. If they were the type of school they say they are, they would actually answer emails and grade things in proper time instead of marking it late. Teachers and the entire school system need to actually start caring about the students education and well-being, not their paychecks every week. It's sad to see the education system fall this far.
