Both our kids started this year at Horace Mann, and they love it. Great teachers and staff, whatever question you have, they will help you out. I'm really happy that we moved to this school district; it works out really well.

Would be great if the staff practices what they preach in regards to the Husky High 5 and especially in regards to integrity. Children learn by example, and numerous staff members are very poor examples for our children who should be taught how to think, not what to think. Emotional support and protection from abuse for children at this school is a disgrace.

Regular school with good teachers, but with poor management and administrators. The principal and his assistants are horrible people and never respond to real concerns of the kids/parents.They have the funds to make them better, but for now it’s an average school.

Horace Mann is a great school with mostly great teachers. Everything at this school is amazing until there is an issue and you realize that administration does not support students and parents. From my personal experience, it appears that the principal takes the side of his staff in most cases. Parents have very little say. Some teachers openly show favoritism to kids who have parents as teachers at the school or parents on the executive board of the PTA.Bullying is a big problem here as well. Unfortunately, in my opinion, admin does a terrible job with this. This school is definitely a work in progress.

Our experience of this school has been wonderful. The community of families has been better than I ever would have expected, and the education both of my children have received has been what my wife and I wanted for our children. We have high academic standards, and we feel the school does as well, all while nurturing their best selves in a social/emotional realm. The "Husky High-Five" is a good example of this. Excellent school.

Great school, we had nothing but great experience. My son was behind math and reading after starting 1st grade, and the teachers at school handled our issues in the best possible way. Great support for kids with learning disabilities. No bullying. The Principal knows my kid by name and he made us feel welcomed at school from day 1.

I agree with parent post August 12, 2018. We are still at this school but only just as there is not a lot of options for us. Administration very ineffective & myopic. I do not understand why education here does not have a large dose of social-emotional support. Getting great grades means nothing if we are supporting an environment that makes children into unhappy and unhinged teens and ultimately adults.

This school has been through more principals and vice-principals than anyone can count over the past 5 years. It's incredibly poor at instilling respect and integrity in the children. Bullying is a continuous problem for many many kids with an administration that continues to not know how to handle problematic behavior. Parental concerns are viewed with "a we understand but can't do anything approach." Education is so so at best. Would not consider moving to Beverly Hills for any of the schools, but specially this one.

I have had 2 boys at Horace Mann for the last 8 years. The community at Horace Mann is really diverse and very much involved. The PTA does a great job at bringing the community together many times each year. They also fund many programs and events for the students and families. The new building has made a considerable difference in providing a great learning environment. The new classrooms are huge and well designed. The teachers and admin are perhaps the greatest assets of the school.

I have two children at this school and they have both really enjoyed their time here. It is a down-to-earth and committed community. We have also really enjoyed the new campus and great quality PTA programs on offer. Parents and teachers alike are committed to a quality education for our kids.

As a parent of two children that have attended Horace Mann over the course of a dozen years, I have seen phenomenal growth from increased API scores over 920, to award winning science and debate programs. The sense of community continuously grows, with parent participation in the PTA over 80% school wide.

I have two children that attend Horace Mann. One in elementary and another in middle school. The administrators are amazing, responsive to parent inquiries and they go out of their way to find solutions. Overall the elementary teachers are highly motivated and engaged in the curriculum. They participate in the many events, activities and programs that are available. The middle school has a handful of great instructors that overshadow the other instructors that are really performing at the top of their field. There is a tremendous sense of community and commitment from the parents. The PTA is incredibly involved with all aspects of the school. Good participation from students, parents and teachers at events and activities. There are many educational opportunities and activities: Science Olympiad Team, Debate Club, Teacher to student tutoring, Peer to Peer Tutoring, Counselors, Horticulture Club, Garden Club, Chess Club, Dance, Monthly parent and student Educational Nights, Bedtime Stories, Monthly Movie Nights, Restaurant Nights, Halloween Carnival, Musicals, Benefit Concert, Cafe Night, Year End Party and much more!
