I have multiple children at this school. It utilizes a traditional education emphasizing the 3 Rs; this school is for a certain type of student and will not fit all comers. They are about two grade levels ahead of the local public schools with some students advanced beyond this for reading and math. We switched from another local private school and have been thrilled. Many students come from over an hour away to attend. My only complaint is the homework burden is higher than I think is necessary.

This school lives in 80s. Desperately needs new leadership to completely revamp all the old thinking.

Thirteen years completed this year with first child graduating and attending Wake Forest University. Three more children in the school and the experience only gets better every year.

As a graduate and current parent, WPS offers an intimate and supportive school environment where classes are small so individual attention may be provided to all. I can't imagine where I would be without WPS and I am grateful to be able to offer my children the same opportunity.

I am incredibly proud to say I am a graduate of Worcester Preparatory School. I am also a current parent. While the school has modernized with the times and grown tremendously since the early 90s when I was enrolled there, the school continues to blend the best of the traditions that have made it what it is since 1970 while also staying true to the times with the hiring and retaining of superior teachers and providing the latest in technology and curriculum. While at the school, I enjoyed the extracurricular activities of sports, clubs and theater along with the challenging academic rigor. Over the years, the offerings have grown in and out of the classroom and a great majority of students actively participate in these programs. The result being a well-rounded individual who graduates ready to excel in college but also become an asset to his or her community. WPS provides a wonderful foundation to a lifetime of success for its students.

I did not enjoy attending this school. While I agree that the core academics prepared me well, it is simply too small to provide any of the extras of local public schools. The parents are snobby and cliquish, the kids spoiled and sheltered. In a county with such great school choices, I am still upset with my parents for wasting their money to put me in an environment with no socioeconomic diversity and a general lack of non-core educational choices. At WPS your kid will take latin but not psychology, journalism, wood shop, and business principles. The average WPS parent would laugh at the idea of their kid taking wood shop but I learned a great deal more from Berlin Middle's shop than WPS' latin class.

Excellent school with caring, hard-working teachers. Our child is new to Worcester and has had absolutely no trouble adjusting to new friends and new curriculum. The Math teacher is outstanding in helping our child "catch-up" after a lackluster public school education. The technology program and breadth of academics are outstanding. Well worth every penny!!
