Seven Peaks School is such a gift to our community! The IB program is AMAZING - and offers such unique opportunities to our preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle-school-aged children. It is the only school in our region that offers that continuity of care and academic growth, shaped by the globally-recognized quality of IB instruction. The staff and family community are both vibrant and engaged - my children love walking in those doors each day!

Our family loves Seven Peaks School! We have been part of the school for 5 years now, and our kids are thriving and growing so much! We appreciate that teachers take an individual approach to each child's learning with respect to their level/abilities/needs. The IB framework that all teachers use to develop their instruction and curriculum is truly turning our children into thinking, inquirers, who are becoming lifelong learners.

We’ve had an incredible experience at Seven Peaks School.

My kids have been at Seven Peaks for over 10 years combined, and have been blessed with amazing teachers and an incredible education. The school also teaches the kids how to be kind and considerate, and to be worldly. Ever since the old principal was fired, the entire staff and administration has improved. While many students left due some parents who tried unsuccessfully to ruin the school, enrollment is trending in the right direction and parents are genuinely happy.I could not think of a better school in Bend or anywhere else to send my children.

Turned out to be very disappointing and unhealthy. We were practically forced to sign a contract for the next school year without knowing who would be running the school. Teacher turnover is high. It feels unstable.

Our experience has been incredible. Instruction and engagement from the teachers has been extraordinary, well beyond the public school experience we had in what was considered the best public elementary school. Where in our previous school a simple thing like scheduling an ad-hoc parent teacher meeting made us feel like we were an inconvenience, at SPS teachers are proactively reaching out to you to keep you updated on the progress of your children. This happens at least 1-2 per week for us for both our kids.On the instruction side, SPS focuses on whole child development. This felt like marketing speak to us at first but they take it very seriously. SPS has child support teams, the flourish program, and IB well integrated into the curriculum so the kids in each class really act as a team. Our two super shy elementary-age kids have come completely out of their shells. They speak with confidence in public regularly at the school, participate in school plays, are now "handraisers," and mistakes / failures result in laughter now tears. This alone has made it worth every penny.Lastly, in my opinion, from JK->5th, SPS has the best teaching team in bend, bar none.

We have been at Seven Peaks for 9 years and we love the community, small classes, character development and academic rigor it provides for our kids. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

We couldn't be happier. Both of our kids love attending school and we have been so pleased with their teachers, the support staff, and the special programs. The IB program is invaluable and I am so happy to have my kids be a part of it. The small class sizes alone should convince any prospective families to join the Seven Peaks Community. Our kids are not just a number in an overcrowded classroom, their teachers know them, love them, and respect them. This is evident every time we meet with the teachers.

My son has had an incredible experience. He loves going to school and is actively interested in all his subjects. To see his academic growth is amazing and to see his social/emotional growth is heartwarming. My son feels heard and appreciated and has wonderful friends. As a middle schooler, has really begun to take ownership of his own learning. I can't say enough about his positive experience. With a foundation at Seven Peaks, he has discovered what learning can be - and he loves it.

Seven Peaks is an amazing school…we’ve been a part of the SPS ‘family’ for six years, and our two children are thriving. The teachers and staff are world-class, and the small class sizes allow teachers to know each child deeply. The challenging, inquiry-based academics and focus on ‘developing the whole child’ inspires curious, kind, critical-thinkers. The school’s IB certification and progressive teaching philosophies like design thinking and growth mindset put SPS on par with top schools globally…having moved from the top-ranked private school in Portland, we have experienced this first hand. And the culture is warm, unpretentious, grounded and inviting. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found this gem in our little town of Bend!

We were one of the families that was negatively impacted by the actions/theft of the previous principal as of the date of this post. We would have left the 2016/2017 school year had we not been pressured to pre-pay for the entire school year up front. While the principal was terrible, the vice principal who has since been let go was lack luster as well. There has been significant turn over in teachers. The teachers who have remained have always been great. More than half of my child's class did not return for the following school year and the overall student population was greatly reduced going into the 2017/2018 school year. Our negative experience was clearly felt by families across multiple grades. I had high hopes that the school might recover from issues plaguing the previous administration, However, I I have spoken with current families that the school continues to suffer from decisions of its board and has yet to get it right. The current headmaster lacks experience in progression and also recently got rid of one the greatest assets the school has had, an individual who served as one of the primary reasons why we originally selected Seven Peaks. It is my opinion that the number of new familiars moving into Central Oregon from large west coast cities, with no experience dealing with the school in the past, is one of the factors contributing to the fact that there are still students attending this school. My warning to prospective families of the school is this - do not leave your intelligence at the door. Be specific and purposeful in the questions you ask of the school and especially of the new headmaster (who is already drawing negative criticism from the community). DO NOT pre-pay for the entire year unless they are willing to provide a full pro-rated refund in the event you decide to remove your child/children mid year due to lack of performance on the part of the school. I recommend you ask the following questions on your first visit; How many teachers at the school were hired within the past few years? Has the student population risen or declined in recent years? What is truly unique about the school that I can’t get out of the public schools in the area that are rated higher than Seven Peaks?

This school has improved year after year recently and it's currently under the leadership of a strong, smart, dedicated principal who seems very focused on fulfilling its mission. The staff is friendly and the teachers my kids have had are wonderful. I love that my children are happy to go to school every day.
