My kids are currently in 1st and 3rd grade at Buckingham. They are thriving and love it. I’m very happy with the progress they have made and the love they have for school.

The bureaucracy at this school is amazing. First, I have yet to see any action regarding my request for my son to take part in special groups for his reading and how to handle his emotions (Being tested for autism). It has been three weeks and have yet to have a call back. In addition to that kids are not allowed to wear makeup, masks, or hair dye for Halloween costumes at school this year. What's the point of having Halloween then? I spoke to the principal about it and he wouldn't let me speak by talking over me and interrupting. I am really disappointed in this school mainly because of how the principal talked to me. He is the face of my child's school and it seems to overshadow some of the positives there. It's shameful, coming from a family of teachers and being a granddaughter of a principal. It's shameful. Everything's hunky dory, fake smiles but when it comes down to real issues and concerns, it's apparent that the person at the top forgot how he got there and what it truly means to be a teacher. It's about making a difference and being the change we want to see in the world. It's not about power but rather PEOPLE. How dare I question the "rules". It's so sad.

Buckingham Elementary, When I was a kid I went from the valley to Bend, Oregon. This school ruined my math! I was in Shorts class when I was never taught how to fully do math I was just told to do the Times Tables and if I didn't do it all under the time aloud I was held in for lunch and recess. My first week or so there I was asked to do a paper on a book and I was rushed, when I couldn't read my own handwriting from being rushed and fear, I was made fun of and told "That's what happens when you rush yourself" he also took all my collectibles away that kept me calm in class. By far one of the worst schools I went to. Rated up there with Trinity Lutheran

I am amazed at how the teachers, leaders and staff at this school care for each and every child that comes through their doors. They support each student's needs and put in countless hours outside of school to provide choir, lego robotics, science night, fall festival, reading week, homework club, and other opportunities. The secretaries are always helpful and care about each family. One of the best schools in Bend, Oregon!

Earned Oregon's top rating, "Outstanding" for the past three years Oregon Department of Education State School Report Card. The test scores have increased over the past four years and are above the school district's average. This school is not just improving their student's achievements, they are connecting and supporting all students and families. You instantly feel the joy and fun that the staff brings to education each day.

hahahahaHA is all i can say about buckingham. it still reigns supreme as the WORST school my family has ever had to deal with, while bear creek elementary 2 miles up the road is the BEST! my complaints about staff and student misconduct at buckingham fell on deaf ears while at bear creek my problems were immediately dealt with.
